Alwaysbsend your mac3 and 6 whenbyour dm is on duty even if you are night driving. This keeps them updated on when you are ready for another load. If you are running early, send a mac1 and tell them you aren't certain what you should do on your 6 because you would like earlier delivery or drop. That will spur them on to get with cusser service or the planner to get something done. If you don't have a load before you are 3 hours ask them if you have done something wrong that you aren't preset. That will also spur them on to greatness. I am not shy about telling my dm I need loads and so far I am impressed with the one I have now.

I talked to my recruiter and I'm scheduled to start the school in Utah on the 14th. I've kind of kept it secret and don't know how to brake it to my family. My Dad and Grandfather both drove trucks for a while and I hinted around that I wanted to truck drive and they said some pretty negative things.
I think I'll tell them after I buy the plane ticket and quit my current job. LOL. Anyways I'm kind of pumped about going to the school. -
Understand that family thing and the negativity. You must do what is best for you and what will make you happy. Nothing more miserable than going to a job you hate or sitting there saying, I shoulda, coulda, woulda, ......but. Out of mild curiosity what career are you leaving?

Why hide it?
If your family has been around trucking they know that it is an honorable profession.
They will also know that work is available at all times, and you would never have to want for work again.
I think trucking is allot like the military.
They are sacrificing their lives for our country and so are we.
(I am a veteran btw so no jumping on me for that comment)
We are out on the road, away from our family and friends 250+ days a year. Making fairly low wages, but happy to be serving the U.S. people.
And no matter how you look at your driving job, you are serving the people of this nation. Without you we could not survive. -
