These products put a coating on engine parts just imagine that small oil port it will leave a coating in and restrict the flow

Ditto what Rerun, Chalup and Plum said.

Additives are like the gizmos some buy to increase fuel mileage. They might have a placebo effect but little else. We paid good money for them so we "feel" an increase in power and mileage but really we run in varying conditions and have no real way of telling.

Today's oils and additive packages are way better than they were years ago.

a person will only "think" its working like it says on the label.....because they spent money on it and do not want to believe anything else.

I agree. As much money the oil companies sink into the research behind their motor oils, if this stuff had any benefit that would give them a marketing edge, it would already be in their mix.

As to whether it works... only one way to know. Keep performance records before and after - but don't change anything else in the way you drive or changes to the truck. Track it for 90 days...

the "best truck" is one that does not rattle, creak or moan, has horse power, a comfortable interior, smooth ride, is easily serviceable, has an unobstructed view of the road, has a paint job that will not pit, peel or crack, has a great factory warranty, has a dealer network second to none, and does not require an over night stay while its being fixed..

    that's the best truck....

    now pick a color....

i like yellow, stainless steel fuel tanks, brushed aluminum Alcoa wheels, frame painted black, and only a sparingly amount of chrome, like maybe the air cleaners.. i want a "maintenance free" exterior.

    Dead thread revival:

MotorKote likes using the Timken Bearing test (one arm bandit) to show passers by how this stuff is the best thing you can ever do to your engine. I am in no way promoting the product that did this, But, one might want to take a look at this video:

If there was anything in MotorKote that was lacking in engine oil - especially engineered synthetics - the oil manufacturers would have put it in there. IMO, it's a waste of money.

MotorKote is the same as any other garbage that's overpriced that does the same as anything else. The only reason they have name recognition is because they sponsor that stupid overnight trucking show and the fat pig and the other guy hawk it like its the best thing since sliced bread. It's not. As its been posted before, synthetic is the way to go. No gimmicks, nobody pushing it like its crack on a low rated radio show. It's just another thing to take money out of your wallet.
