What is the benefit of an unpaid sick day? Are they saying you would still qualify for a bonus, or something along those lines?

BTW, nice detailed info in the above post.

Marinevet I will definetly plan my meals around my load and unload times....nothing like getting paid to eat.Ragman I agree with you about the unpaid personal days, no real benefit there unless you wake up one morning and the kids are begging me to take them sledriding instead of going to work that day. I do think that will take away the 1c.p.m attendence bonus but, I don't know for how long. Could be just for that load or that week. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the information I am giving out and as I have said before I only hope it will help out other drivers if they are looking for work as well.

well guys here is an update for you on L.J. Kennedy. On Thursday I got a call from the recruiter and was told that I was excepted into the Kennedy family. He then went on to go over what the offfer consisted of as far as pay. He tells me the job pays .38c.p.m. plus a .2c.p.m bonus which is 2 cents less than what I was told in the interview. I then questioned him why the change and he tells me the N.E. system drivers get the extra 2 cents because they have to deal with a lot more traffic than the Midwest system drivers. So after a little hesitation I still agreed to attend orientation on the 23rd of Feb. Then this morning I was on there website and see one of there recruiting brochures on there that says, "Don't believe us call one of our drivers". So I took them up on the offer and called the first guy on there. Really nice guy who had been with them for 6 years and I spent about an hour talking with him. He tells me the owner of the co. passed away about a year ago and some guy from Schneider is running it into the ground. He also told me they are sitting for 1 to 2 days at times waiting for loads. He also told me the other two guys numbers who is on the rec. brochure have left the co. since this new guy is running the co. I took the time to also call them as well and was told pretty much the same thing from the other guys. This is a very tough decision for me to make but I do think I am going to call on monday and turn down the job. I have been reading a lot about Superior Carriers on here and put in an app. with them this morning and will follow up with that with a phone call on monday morning after getting of the phone with L.J. Hope this helps and let me know if I can help anymore..........gotta say I love this message board and wish I found it years ago.

No they are not based out of Columbus. They have 7 different terminals up and down the east coast and one in Carrollton, Ky. They say they need driverd that live in and around Columbus. Of course they told me a lot of other things that I see are not true now as well. Hope that helps out.

it's supposed to be 50 a day on the weekends, or 150 for the whole weekend if you don't make it home. they stopped telling people that about the same time i started, back in july of 2009.

hope you get one of the new trucks, those automatics are one of the reasons kennedy has so many breakdowns....
