Keep in mind the name Arby's. That means the food there belongs to him, so if you're eating and a guy named Arby comes walking in, he can take your meal since it rightfully belongs to him.

    ..same thing with Reese's. :)

Cheyenne WY Denny's was also out of the Spinach & Artichoke dip for their 3 dip n chips, too. WHAT THE HECK, DENNY'S?!

Also beware the Tsing Tsing chicken appetizer. That Asian sauce left my lips burning for a good 5 minutes after I was done eating. It was wonderful. However, they could have done better with grilled chicken instead of using chicken strips, but I digress. That sauce was sweet and spicy and had a nice lingering burn. Then it burned my wallet later because it was $7.99.

There actually was a small chain of restaurants in the Denver area called Reese's Coffee House. I once had a wife who worked in one for a few years. . .

As to the timing that I stated about Arby's, perhaps it was early '70's instead of late '60's.

I have enough trouble remembering what day it is today.:biggrin_2557:

Dislike of Denny's - let me count the ways. Run in and place an order to go, leave and fuel the truck, pay for the fuel then go in and wait another 15 to 20 minutes for them to get the order ready. Don't try to get a cheeseburger without the fries because it doesn't come that way. So take the fries with the cheeseburger, which I admit is of a HUGE burger, and I am sure VERY high on the list of healthy foods. Eat the fries with it and don't schedule a cholesterol reading for at least 3 months. And all that for the low, low price of over $9.00 for a burger too big to eat and fries you don't want. Try going in, sitting down and placing your drink order. Then the waitress comes back for your food order. OK, I am just going to take the splurge and get the grilled chicken salad for - yep, about $9.00. And then DH orders something with beef in it. They are out of beef. The waitress says in fact they are out of a lot of stuff so as we go through about 3 things on the menu we have already wasted 45 minutes to get seated and it's been fun but we have to go now. It isn't the waitress' fault - at least not really. I personally think she might have mentioned that they were out of food before we waited so long and as we are saying our bye-byes she actually asked if I still wanted my salad. No, I don't think so since I can pick one up at the deli counter on the way out for $3.99. I did make the mistake of asking if she could put my tea in a cup so I could take it with me - not that I had taken a drink of it but it was there and I thought I wanted it. She comes back with a cup and a bill for over $3.00 (that would be $1.95 for the tea and another $1.05 for the tax and the carry out cup??? Now if they have had food and we had eaten it would have been free refills so what the heck is the charge for a carry out cup about? I know times are tough everywhere and I did lose her business from other customers who couldn't get food because they were out while I was trying to find something they had.

You can't get a baked potato there. I thought you could get a baked potato about anywhere. I do like their BBQ chicken breast but I prefer to pick my own sides and not have them decide what is best for me. Hot wings are good but make sure you look in the box before you take off with it - seems the cook couldn't figure out what the second compartment was for so they left out the celery sticks. And that was $7.95.

While I think a person can only eat so many Subways, can't figure out how McDonald's could manage to make their burgers smaller and just gets plain tired of all the fast foods - Denny's was about as bad of a choice they could have made for the restaurants. OK, Bob Evans may have been a bit worse.

    Why the dislike for buffets?

I remember those... along with the White Spots, and the various Holly Inns. All long gone now.

    Replaced by... blechh!... Denny's.

McCoy's up on N Federal a block north of I70 has good food. Not so wild about the Breakfast Queen at Santa Fe and Mississippi.

I guess my taste-buds must be burned out from smoking too many cigs, because I like Denny's.
