Well, I am in route to the school and had a layover in KC for over 7 hours...not fun but I am sure this is pretty common (never rode greyhound before).

Really excited but a little sad about leaving the little ones behind. I am sure I'll get over it as I always have in a few days. Getting excited about learning a new trade.

Well if everything works out at England you should get to see your little ones about a handful of times a year. Sounds as if you didn't do a whole lot of research before jumping into this one. So are you going through their schooling program? If so I would recommend jumping off the bus! Sorry that's mean I shouldn't have said it that way. Wait until the bus stops then get off!

Do you have a bad driving record or criminal history? Is that why you are going to England? Well if this is your only option then I wish you the best. If not I highly recommend you reconsider your endeavor.

Sorry to hear about you leaving little ones. Hope all goes well for you and you find yourself a dedicated run with them or something regional or local that will get you home often to be with your children.

In the future, it's usually a plane in and a bus home:) Good luck!

    I HATE Greyhound

    I HATE Amtrak

I HATE getting anyplace where stops are made constantly and the smells of B.O and food and old farts (the gas, not the people) get saturated into the seats.

I HATE that i got to "disembark" while they fuel up, unload luggage, and reload

I HATE my suitcase went to Oshkosh, when i was in Davenport

I HATE that when i needed the bathroom, it had no wipes

I HATE that i arrived tired, beat, dirty, hungry, and weary

I HATE that first day of orientation when the nitwit asks, "did everyone have a good trip here..?? (i wanted to choke the living life outta him)

I HATE that in orientation on the first day they say, "you will be away from home 7 to 10 days"

I HATE it when mid-week they say, "you will be away from home 21 to 35 days"

I HATE it when i have to call the airlines and book a one way ticket back home, cuz, "dis bad boy ain't gonna be bused or getting on a train no mo', this bad boy is going HOME IN STYLE"......

may be a "free ride to get there", but I HATE when i gotta spend my own money to get away quick.....

Unfortunately, he won't - he's a starry-eyed newbie taken in by the grandeur of it all, and in a months time, he'll be back on here lambasting England like there was no tomorrow...

Some people gotta learn the hard way, I guess...

lol, OK...I guess I should have put CRS (I have always seen CR England abbreviated CRE). MY BAD!

Got in late last night and it seems to be decent so far. I have yet to get a roommate but I am told I will get one in the morning. I felt like I was walking into cell block 6 when I saw the rooms :biggrin_2559: it is a small room with a metal bunk bed, trashcan, heater, and nothing else. But the facility is actually pretty nice. They have private shower/bathrooms, decent lounge area, and plenty of washers and dryers.

I got today off and then we start physicals in the morning.
