Yay, Chris! Carol, I know how that feels! My better half is already out there and I'm playing catch-up.
I don't have the link saved (it's in my personal messages), but there are sites with practice tests online. Let me find 'em and I'll send them to you.
Great job, you two!

So, Ur playing catch-up? Are you getting your CDL's too or do you already drive?
I'm really getting excited about this new journey. I still have lots of on the road questions, like, will there be a dress code when I do the driving, i.e. what types of shoes will I have to wear in the summer, (I love my flip-flops), you know, girlie questionsI know a lot of this I will learn as I go.
I'm also excited to meet and make new Lady truckers friends! Trilleth I noticed in your signature line you have ppl. you have met, is this in person or on this forum? If it's the forum then you can ad me as well,Trilleth Thanks this. -
I'll keep an eye on you when we are both on the road and see if we can add each other to the "real life" list.
Have a great evening/morning (whenever you read this). -
When do you think you'll be joining Joe to team drive? Is Joe an O/O? or does he work for a company, and if a company, which one, if you wouldn't mind sharing that info?
As for driving in a bikini, Na! Not me, but flip-flops, Totally YES!
That would be awesome to meet up while on the road, looking forward to it. I'll keep you posted on our progress! -
Chris finished orientation yesterday, the last 2 days were classroom stuff.
He learned the policy and procedures of May, and tried to learn the qualcom, but Chris still has a lot to learn on that. The end of the last day they went out and did some chaining and walked around the different departments.
From what Chris can see May is a really good company, the staff is great, very nice.
They informed Chris that he will be with a trainer by the middle of next week, quicker than Chris expected.
It's all finally happeningTrilleth Thanks this. -
I have failed the skills tests twice. The first time was lack of proper instruction, but the second time was more nerves (from failing before) than anything. I went to a school to get my training, but now that I've done it, a part of me wishes I'd gone and tested for the permit and made Joe teach me the rest.
Joe works for Watkins Shepard, a really great company out of Missoula, MT. He's not an O/O, but we have talked about doing it in the future.
Congrats to Chris! May is, from everything I've read and heard, an absolutely AWESOME company. They were Joe's second choice, in fact. (I had only one choice) So glad things are rolling for y'all. Keep up the good work!

Watkins was Chris' second choice,
Yea, there's no way I want to start training on this until I get road experience first, besides studying for my CDLs). I'm a hands on learner and in order for me to comprehend what I'll be learning I need to understand what they are referring too. And right now I'm clueless, LOL.
I will keep you posted on our progress and you do the same! -
I don't know bout you gals but I am willing to bet you won't be driving with flip flops for very long unless you got some real strong feet and leg muscles. Flip flops would kill your feet after an hour or so muchless 11 hours of driving.. Flip flops are great but you won't last long driving with them--tennis shoes or boots--or you may risk harming your feet. Just a FYI for ya
Trilleth and CarolCreates Thank this. -
I didn't even think of the leg muscles. See, I'm not driving yet so all the important things of being on the road just aren't computing yet! That's why I love this forum where I get so much feed back!
Again, Tnx Lady Trucker99!
I hope U follow allow with our journey! -
Chris got the call from May Trucking today. His trainer will be coming through Roseburg tomorrow afternoon, and he'll pick him up at Love's Truck Plaza.
They will be heading south to California to start with, but they could go anywhere in the lower 48. He'll be out between one to three weeks with his trainer. When he feels Chris is ready to solo, that is when Chris will get his own truck.

Things are now happening. . .so excited!Trilleth Thanks this.
