I agree with Big Don and Bullhauler's Wife. And I've personally been hit up for a "tip" from produce loaders. I didn't pay and yes I reported. So it does happen in the industry.

As to the spelling issues.......everyone knew what was meant by LIABLE and a private message would have taken care of the correction without attempting to embarrass someone. However, I could get my red crayon out of the box and start hunting down and reposting every single post (with every spelling and grammar error) of anyone who feels the need to harrass others over spelling and grammar.

I hear the high pitched scream of Bull Hauler's Wife as I type. "NOOOOOOOOO NANA NOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Sorry, I deal with professional lawyering, and it gets in the way of common sense lawyering...

I was just correcting the "liable" word, and I did say that the info had to be derogatory and usually false, didn't specify whether written or spoken.

That said, spoken derogatory is nearly impossible to prove unless you have quite a few UNBIASED witnesses or the statements were recorded. Thank the Good Lord that's not the area of the law I ever had to deal with (or still do), because no matter how you look at it, it's like a Jerry Springer episode.

Wasn't tryin to harass, Nana.. but in the legal world, there's a big difference in the two words, and some are giving legal advice here.

Well bless your heart. How do you find the time between your lawyering and truck driving to come and educate us poor uneducated slobs?

Nana, I have nothing but respect for you, as I've read a gillion of your posts. I drove for 3.5 years, and as of a month ago, I'm back to doing the expert witness thing for several lawfirms.

One thing I've tried to avert, since LONG before I ever worked with a lawfirm, is "barracks lawyering", as we called it in the military, or "truckstop lawyering", as mentioned in this thread.

More people run off half-####ed based on bad advice than I can count, and often, they damage their situation by following the advice of someone who thinks they know how things work, based on their own experiences, or what someone told them.

Shouldn't the title of this thread read Accusation of Bribery, without the word false?

Well, it would read that way if Large Marge was really "investigating" the situation, instead of trying to save her friends job. :biggrin_25525:
