if you are getting melons hand bombed onto your truck--sometimes 40 bucks goes a long ways-it might be the difference in time or weight ---besides do you really want to argue with two guys who have arms the size of your legs???

Agreed on the "alleged" or "accused" nature of the thread title I just wonder how this will be investigated. The driver makes a statement, the warehouse guy contradicts it in his defense. Unless someone else heard it, it's going to be hard to prove or disprove. I do applaud the warehousing company for taking such strong action, and not blowing off the driver's accusation. I'm sure most companies would just blow off what a driver claimed...
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
And I like and respect you as well. I'm glad you're doing the expert witness gig. Frankly I tried to get my husband to do it as he's got 20 years experience as a law enforcement officer and he was a darn good one. But liking and respecting you doesn't mean I'm not going to jump up and say something when you get snotty. Nor do I expect you respecting me to prevent you from calling me on the same thing.
"Large Marge" whom I seriously doubt is actually a woman but some friend of the loader who's attempting to hide their identity wanted opinions not legal advice. No one here represented themself as a lawyer nor as a legal expert until you brought your status into issue.
I'll restate my point and perhaps it'll be more clear for you: You could have sent the poster a pm explaining the spelling of the word, then the poster could have corrected the spelling and no one would have been embarrassed. As it is......you look pompous and I look like a witch spelled with a b.

Dangit, it's a Lose-Lose. And I didn't believe the OP's name from the get-go... how many women do you know who would intentionally indicate that they were "large"?
bullhaulerswife and Texas-Nana Thank this. -
That was what tipped me off too!bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -

I mean, I know thin ladies who say "I need to lose weight", but even mostly burly guys don't "brag" about being "large".
I think we need the rest of the story.
On a similar note, before I went OTR, I was doing regional for Zeigler's Apple Cider near Philly, and was at the C&S Metro in Woodbury, NJ 2-3 times a week. It was common knowledge that if you didn't "tip" the short guy who called trucks to their doors, you might just sit all day. I asked him that question - if I drop you $20, can you get me a door quicker?
He said "absolutely". I asked him if he knew he was being recorded - and then told him I was kidding, and that he was wrong for whacking drivers for unload door preference. He told me that's the way it is, and has been for years.
I called my uncle in Alaska, a union steward for years (C&S is union) and told him about the situation - he made a call to New Jersey, and the guy was demoted and made to work on the floor again, and they promoted another "truck door director". -
on something that may not be true and they may never be able to prove one way or the other.
maybe you would be so kind as to send some grocery's to feed his kids, or pay his house note. or maybe pay him the wages he will lose.
how about suspension with out pay. and if found not guilty, then payed for his lost wages. -
Be realistic, do you think a company would risk a lawsuit from the employee if they didn't have evidence to support their actions? We're all operating under vast assumptions based only on "Large Marge" and "her" obviously biased post.
Perhaps "Large Marge" or yourself might shed some more light on the situation. Why not share the company names of both the employee and the driver? Then we might be able to find information on the situation in the news.
If "Large Marge's" dear friend is in fact falsly accused and being persecuted why hasn't he sought legal aid or gone to the media? We all know the media would jump on an opportunity to show the cruelty of and persecution of innocent people by the trucking industry.outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
your all fools there is no Large Marge
