    Thanks for the recipe! I would rather just pay the price for a bottle of Zephyr (I stock up when it's on sale) and spend the time polishing instead of mixing & cooking.

    I favor Zephyr over Blue Magic on the truck. For machine polishing I get my supplies from a co called Caswell.

    Cool that we have a shine guy here. I have Dura-Brite wheels and I hate 'em. Can't get an honest shine out of 'em. I hear the wheels can be micro-milled without compromising the structure...and it not only gets rid of the Dura-Brite finish, but smooths out the milling grooves as well. Who does this and where are they located?

    As for resurfacing and machine polishing dura brite wheels if you want to get the fine mill working lines removed from the wheel you can etheir sand them with 400,800,1000,2000 grit and then cut and buff them out with the zephyr green rouge and they should come out very nicely with no mill lines if the mill lines are real fine I would just go like 800 to 1000 grit then buff them out using a yellow buff wheel on a high speed angle grinder granted you can use the yellow arroway buffing wheel or even the green arroway buffing wheel but them wheels will leave very find lines in your finished work unless you take the white rouge bar with a soft wheel and buff the fine lines away I just find it easier to use the yellow spiral sown buffing wheel that you can purchase at your local lowes, get the 4 to 6 inch wheel.

    Now if your talking about rear wheels the same process can be used but it is harder than your steer wheels. As for knowing someone that actually does the milling like in CNC milling and then buffing it out with big machines I dont know of a place in NC, I know the people at piedmont truck wash off I40/I85 exit 38 in whittset NC does machine polishing but I dont know if they have a CNC or the big machines that are automated high speed cutter polishers.

    I my use a machine surta like the roll n buff. you can look at the roll n buff on youtube and watch their videos and what they do is pretty much how I do it unless I must high speed polish them on the truck it self and if that is the case than there isnt really a good way of sanding the wheel before high speed polishing it. So in order to give a wheel a good sanding it should be removed from the truck. If you would like to see some of my work just look me up on facebook my name is Chad Sarver and I have a picture album on my page that shows some of my work and gives descriptions in what I am doing.

    Have safe day driver's

    Hey Gearslammer- or anyone else who actually knows/does polishing;

    What about a scotchbrite type pad for sanding cleaning? There is a youtube video that seems to show a guy using one. My wheels are pretty funky & I wonder if this would work.

    I just had the thought that I need to buy my own truck so I can pull the wheels & polish them properly. Is that sick or what?

    Yes but you need the $3,000.00 Water Filter System to really make the water / baking soda mixture really work.

    you been watching gord's metal polish on youtube i have seen him too, and as for using scotch brite pads they are ok to use on oxidated wheels that arent badly pitted, so is OOOO steel whool from wal mart it will say OOOO very fine steel wool you can use the very fine steel whool or scotch brite to mainly get the grease grim and oxidation off of wheels but if you want to get the pits out and get the surface smooth as glass then you will have to sand it. If your getting your ideas from youtube try watching DC supershine or tonys metal art.
