I have one for you Mark. Going either direction through Illinois, from Iowa to PA or vice versa, it insists on routing me on 88/294 instead of staying on the shorter, quicker, cheaper route of just staying on 80. Also it shows an incorrect truck speed restriction on I-80 in Illinois from the Iowa state line to MM 123, which may be why the routing issue exists?

Ogden Ut. to Maumelle Ar. sometimes it wants me to take various roads from I-25 Co. to I-70 Co. It should route I-25 so to Co 470 to I 70. Then in Kanans it should route I-70 west to I-135 south but it tries to route on back roads to cut across to I-135. When I go from Ogden Ut. to Kenosha it tries to route me off of I -80 to Wy.287 north up to I-90 and that is 99 miles longer than staying on I-80 to Il-88 north Ronald Reagan toll way.

Not sure where you are going in Vegas, but from 75th ave, you would go I-10 West to loop 101. (exit 133) then US60/US93 all the way to Boulder City and across the new dam bypass road

It is about 280 miles depending on your final.

Used to make that run twice a week.

The problem is the TND does not know the bypass is open and has some roads truck restricted on that route.

    Check your settings.

    Use Fastest route
Under Avoids, check to see if Tolls is set to avoid.

I have found a number of problems with using shortest routing.

Send this up to Rand to verify the mapping database. It may not have been updated to the main core map database from NavTeq yet, but we are checking to see if it is showing on the new maps due out.

And as always you give good solid advice to other drivers.

    Thanks,
    Mark

not trying to be a prude here but there are so many posts on this thread about people wanting a little carry case. or I'll just call it what it is a purse for there GPS. all these problems I keep reading about as far as the USB connection and other problems just might be because ya'll want to unplug it all the time. You don't need a "little carry purse" for you GPS unit. plug the darn thing up, leave it in your windshield, and leave it alone. only unplug it maybe once a month or so for updates . It's not a makeup case it's a GPS unit. you don't need a little purse to carry it in.I have had my 700 for about 2 months now checked for updates both months and plugged it back up leave it in my truck in one of the worst neiborhoods in fl. nobody is going to take it.hook it up and leave it alone, thats all I'm saying.

check your settings make sure you have them set for your specific type of truck weight, length, width, etc.

check and make sure you have it to where it's not avoiding freeways check to see whether you have it avoiding tolls.etc

I agree with you 100%. Leave your GPS connected all the time. USB port is not desidned to work as a on off switch.
