Knight will pay for this by simply cutting driver's pay and benefits. After all, they are only drivers. . .:biggrin_25510:

as per TruckerDave.....this is how they have always done it. They won't buy new tractors or trailers, will fire mechanics or will shut down terminals. They will lay off dispatchers and just cut where and what they can and Knight will still be around as long as they can find someone to haul their freight.

I could not stop reading this court transcript! The behavior by this company and the driver is totally appalling! I don't know how these people sleep at night!

Not as well as they used to. If KHP is seriously pursuing a criminal investigation, it could mean a hornets nest with the SEC and shareholders. For starters, most of the national accounts with whom we are all familiar won't touch Knight if charges are filed. But, you have to keep in mind, the standard of proof is a lot higher in criminal cases so, who knows? Maybe KHP is in hot pursuit, maybe not.

On the civil side, it has to be costing them 10 - 15 thousand a day: no fewer than 3 lawyers and a handful of CPAs working full time on fighting or settling the case at hand, another 2 -3 working with (or against) their insurers and a bunch more working damage control. Any way you count it, it's a ton of freakin' dough and someone is going to be held to account for it.

I managed to read through most of it, What I dont understand it why didnt the driver stop? At the very least to see if the people in the accident we're ok, even if he didnt think he hit anyone......

How did he not see the accident when the other driver saw it...

WTF is wrong with knight since when does a carrier go threw all of this instead of just frying the driver????? That doesnt make ANY sence......Its 100% the drivers fault....well both of them lol the drunk kid and the Truck Driver that wasnt paying attention.

And another thing HOW do the cops not just seize the truck an arrest the Truck driver imediatly?

There seems to be allot of BS with this story.....Stupid Truck Driver, knight covering up for said stupid driver, Ex cop messing up evidence....:biggrin_25511:
