I have stated time and time again to put everything on your app. I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone would risk it. USX does a VERY thorough job on the background. They are actually pretty forgiving if they are told up front.

People really need to talk to their recruiter and make a list of everything they need to have on the app and take with them.....recruiters are very helpful in this area.

How could 14 people get through the recruiters, to the point where the company invites them to orientation, just to reject them? I am worried now after reading the post above by bigstanp. My husband and I have applied and will possibly be in the May 9th orientation in Colton, CA for USX. I have been practicing the "duck walk" and lifting a box with 48 lbs in it, so I should be able to at least pass the physical abilities testing. We have nothing in our past driving or criminal records that would disqualify us, but I am still worried. They asked about prior accidents, and I put none, but now remember that I did hit a pregnant elk with my truck around 2001. There was no accident report, no police, just damage to my truck, and of course, the elk. I never considered it an "accident" because no police were involved, no accident report, nothing on my driving record. I actually had forgotten about it. (Hitting a pregnant elk is something you don't want to remember!) I will call my recruiter tomorrow and tell her. Does anyone know why they reject people in orientation or what else we can do to prevent it? My husband is giving up a very good job (LTL) to go team with me, so we can't afford to be rejected at orientation.

The reason that most get rejected is they try to hide accidents and ticketts; from USX. Also they dont pass the physical. I dont think you accident with the Elk is a problem. Hitting a animal is not a chargeble accident anyway. But I would still tell them before you go.

You do not have any problem with your driving history. As stated, the reason a lot are sent home is they are trying to hide something. Also, make sure you have your employment history info correct. They will need to talk to all past employers. Maybe talk to past employers to tell them USX will be calling. You will not be hired until the background check is completed. The physical and drug test are where most fail. The physical capabilities test is not hard. It is Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar or failing the drug test that gets most. In my class of 19, 2 got sent home. One had high blood sugar and was invited back once he got treated by his doctor and one they could not verify his employment after five days of trying.

What's is crazy is that they were going back 20 years on history when evryone thought they would only go back 3. That was the problem. So I would advise putting everything down or thedy will call it falsefying on app. Not to make anyone nervous. Just don't want to have people waste time and get sent home on own expense which was upsetting to see.it was like being on the show. Survivor. Loland I hope it will be worth it....good luck

Thank you all for the information. They did only ask for 10 years on the employment history, so I assume the 20 years is criminal history. Since neither of us has a criminal history, we are safe there. Thank you all again and I look forward to working with you soon!

I brought everything that was on the list that you were supposed to bring, and the only think they asked for was my ss card. All that paperwork i brought they never asked for. But of course if I didn't bring it they would have wanted it.

My wife is considering accepting a male trainer if it means getting the ball rolling quicker. It is good to hear that there are decent fellas out there. I have seen Carl mentioned before. He must be an wonderful trainer. We are so looking forward to being a Husband/Wife Team. Thank you Craig and Anne for your inspiration. You too, marquardt! : )
