Thanks Robin,
Quick correction the name is Nataly.
Any how, from what I have read here a lot of ppl have poor English skills. It is not the language that makes a driver A GOOD DRIVER, but it is some what necessary. A driver has to be able to understand and communicate with others. As long as he has reached that level of fluency in the English language things should be OK. No one is asking the drivers to read and write at a collage degree, just enough so the ppl can understand you and be able to communicate with you.
What Mr. know it all ( aka Unclegrumpy) is missing is that a lot of those immigrants have a much higher level of education than he does. Some are even doctors in their own country. And I know that the next question will be.., if they are so smart and educated why aren't they doctors here. Well because most of them come at an older age and have to find a way to support their families. For most immigrants the alternatives are 2 trucking or construction since education is not a requirement. And again there are also some very uneducated fools that think that the laws are for the stupid and that they don't need to follow them. I keep saying since the beginning of this madness that things are not always black and white. And that person, some are calling an ignorant none EN speaking immigrant might save their live in time of need, especially in this crazy hurricane season! As I like to say " Don't underestimate and insult ppl, because we all have our story and experience and you never know how is your life going to turn.

Ok... the pi**ing contest is getting old.... You can all agree to disagree, the wonderful thing about this country is we all have that option. Other threads have been shut down because of this type of behavior, fingers crossed that we can discuss the company, or not... but personal attacks are just a bad idea. You all have valid arguments and that's great but we're starting to attack not discuss....
Spelling and grammar are usually ignored here, mods have even stepped in on other threads to ask NOT to harp on that... If you don't understand, ask for clarification... much more pleasant for all of us who want to read through the important stuff, not the attacks...
Please, let's all get along!!! -
If you don't like it don't read it Jlind, like you said you have that option.
Nataly has been disparaging drivers in general since this thread started. If this woman who claims to be educated and can't properly structure a sentance is going to do that then I am definately going to respond.
An officer or manager of a company should not come to a site like this blame others for the mess they got themselves in and not expect some pushback. -
$1200 escrow??????? 45 days?????????? $155 for workmans comp????????
Lady you wouldn't even get me on the #### phone! You SMS tell's a story of haphazard management either condoning or failing to control your fleet. And I'll secong the Chicagoland theory. You gotta be mental. -
We also don't appreciate arguments or condescending attitudes about spelling and grammar. This community is made up of people with varying degrees of formal education, but that doesn't make their experiences any less valuable.PTHEXPRESS, rookietrucker, 25(2)+2 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I was at one time what I guess would be called an "outlaw" driver, multiple logs, fudge anywhere and everywhere I could... Those days are gone and there is no going back, but when I was doing it I didn't always think about the guy who owned the trucks I drove, just the money I was making. A smarter man then myself taught me the difference between being a good driver and a professional one...he always said it was better to listen and learn and if you have something constructive to add by all means do but never believe you have all the answers for all the questions or think everyone will want to hear what I might have to say.
Probably have said too much already....PTHEXPRESS Thanks this. -
Jlind that apology came several pages in, by that time the die was cast. She even goes on to disparage drivers after she made the apology. This whole thing started because Nataly refused to see that although the drivers were violating the law it is management that is to blame for poor CSA scores as they allowed it to happen in the first place.
As for the grammar thing Admin, once again I only bring this up as it is she that claims to be better educated. I don't attack the average poster for their grammar, I do expect someone as educated as Nataly to properly structure a sentance, it isn't too much to ask from the educated.
I'm done with this. I did start to bully Nataly and I shouldn't have, I 'got my Irish up'. I made my point pages ago that PTH is an sub par co. and should clean up their own mess before they wag their finger at their employees. -
Well Unclegrumpy I will respectfully disagree with you, management can only hope they make the best decisions when they hire someone and can only get rid of drivers when the driver doesn't live up to their part of the bargain, not all drivers are on the up and up and unfortunately we as a profession have allowed the bad to succeed, CSA went back 3 years and not everyone was ready for it, I will say that as a driver we should have been ready but I know several that just couldn't or wouldn't change their ways, some are in new careers as they had no choice others find small companies that don't use DAC or hireright or whatever name they will use next week and continue to do what they do until caught and given their walking papers yet again. Ex employers are overly cautious as to what they say or put on requests for info so as to protect themselves thereby putting even more pressure on companies to be diligent, some are very good and some are not. Again, at least it seems like she is trying to have an impact.... I agree she did blame drivers and I think we all can agree that isn't always the best tactic... We all can't be perfect all the time and I know I have said things that in hindsite were not smart, I can only imagine others do so too...

You attack her because she should know better but others it's ok??? hmmm....
Good luck to you and I hope all your travels are safe, and Nataly I hope you can indeed make a difference in the company, Lord knows we need better companies now more then ever!!PTHEXPRESS Thanks this.
