it all depends on your company.

You can run any of these things fridge,tv,laptop, microwave but it has to be big enough to handle the appliance.

Again you have to check with your company for the answer to your question.

The company that I am going with did not say that they had a max on the power inverters they stress that their shop has to install them to make sure that they are installed right so they will not burn the truck down.

Even if you have buddy that installs stereo's. power inverters etc for a stereo shop that is not good enough.

I got a used one for $100, plus shipping.

Inverters are kinda strange, but after awhile it really wasnt used all that much. Laptops dont put a big strain on inverters.

i have a 6000 watt max inverter 3000 constat 4 plugs with a remote to turn it on and off any 1 want it make me an offer

  7. I can only speak for Roehl since I work for them. A driver can hook up any inverter that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter. That pretty much limits you to a 350 – 400 watt one. They will allow you to have one installed by them for a fee. The max wattage is 1000W for the ones they install. Drivers are not allowed to install any of the ones that are hooked directly to the batteries. It has something to do with burning down the truck. I have a 350 and 400 in my truck. They will both run my TV/DVD, computer, phone charger, crock pot. I would like to have one of the 1000W installed so I can put a microwave in the truck. Right now, I just cook in my crock pot or go inside a truck stop and use their micro wave. I have never been refused by the employees.

What about a mini fridge? We have a 400 watt inverter, which should give up to 3.4 amps. The various mini-fridges look like they require about 1.1 amps, but they say max amps of around 5 amps. That should mean that under high loads they could spike up all the way to 5 amps right? So then it would blow the fuse on the inverter?

It varies by company. SRT limits you to 1000 watts last I heard.

CFI... I can not tell you the MAX.. I had a 1500 watt. I saw drivers with 2500.

Watkins & Shepard has not mentioned a max.

I never strained my 1500. I had a dorm style fridge, microwave, coffee pot, lap-top, grill cheese maker, television, DVD player, and a host of other items. Of course, I didn't run them all at once.

The item that placed the largest substained load on my invertor.... My Mr. Coffee coffee pot. It would provide a 30-40 % hit on my meter while it was brewing.

Most likely it will blow the fuse in the dash...that supplies the plug you are using. Unless you direct wire it to the battery.

A mini fridge usually gives a spike (surge) when the compressor first kicks on. It levels out just fine once it is going (2-3 seconds)

Can you tell what I done with a lot of my free time when I was OTR?

*(&^ sitting there watching the meter on my invertor spike :(

With the no idleing policies, would a power converter hold a small ceramic heater or mini AC unit?
