Question about USA Truck pay and mileage

The discrepancy could be because of forced per-diem (good for them, not so good for you). 2500 average miles is what every company sells to any prospective driver. The training pay is about average compared to other training companies.

 

Do a search on nu way schools !!!!!!!

Were you talking to them or a recruiter. I just left USA Truck and none of what you've been told is the reality. I started at .28 cpm and averaged 2100 miles a week. Also, they don't honor their own home time policy.

 

i work for USA been here 4 years have never once gotten home late,always on time or day early had 2600+ miles last week and get that consistently

 

Thomas, what I learned was it all comes down to your Fleet Manager. If you have a good one, then things are great. It sounds like you have a good one and you should feel lucky.

I had a ###### one and asked his boss to be transfered three times and it fell on deaf ears.

My final straw was getting home 5 days late twice in a row. The first time I missed a family funeral and the second time I missed a wedding. Both of which the Fleet Manager knew about in advance. But it just came done to the fact that he didn't really care about my needs.

I moved on to Roehl Transport where they value safety and their drivers. I would recommend Roehl over USA Truck to anyone that asked. However, I will warn you that Roehl is hard to get hired on because they have very high standards. But they do take recent graduates and even have their own school.

 

People give different reviews because some people like to run, some people don't. We don't always get the full story on here usually . Not saying the people that do run a lot don't have slow weeks here and there, but a lot of the "complainers" we here at the terminals are just what I would call "lazy".

 

No one is going to tell you it was their fault they are no longer with a company. Its always what the company did to them not the other way around. Especially here on this site and I suspect all sites. I agree the FM makes all the difference here at USA. Im in 30, and he is great. My buddy is in 26, not so good. I further agree that your willingness to work dictates your work load. You all have seen my posts here regarding mileage. I've also said its pickin up. Last 3 weeks are: 3343, 3781, 3544. Currently Im sitting out a 34 because I flat ran out of hours.

And yes, I squeeze the dickens outta the log book. You could not run the kinda miles I have been running without doing so. There is work here, its just not in the terminals.

 

No forced per diem here. Could be an advertising thing. Per diem is a choice. All be it an uninformed choice, still a choice at USA Truck.
