It worked for me. Not enough... but it did drop some weight.

I'd roll with it, call the Co if you get a ticket.

I had a T660 with a cat always flirted with 12,000 on the front but could always get it right. I have a T600 now loaded or empty doesn't seem to change a hole lot.

Again I think it's all because of the rear suspension. I don't believe the T600 was ever offered with a 4 bag suspension unless someone specified Hendrickson instead of the KW Airglide 8 bag.

    Bucktrucker Thanks this.

If your tires and axles are rated for it and you are on National routes, I wouldn't worry about it.

I am driving an 08 Century with APU, chains, non-sliding fifth wheel and pulling a reefer and I'm regularly over 12k. My tires are rated to about 12.3 but axle for only 12k and I have never had trouble.

Have the shipper re-ajust the load cause I would bet they have too much weight in the front of the trailer.

Umm... Hendrickson and four bag air ride suspensions are very different. Every T600 I've seen being operated as a straight truck had an air ride suspension, i.e., they were road tractors with a dump body slapped on the back of them, and I don't think the T600 was ever offered as a straight truck from the factory, hence, the Hendrickson/Camelback/Chalmers suspensions weren't available for them.

    1. Hendrickson makes a 4 bag air ride suspension for tractors.

    2. T600's have come with leaf spring and walking beam type suspensions. A friend of mine owns one with leaf spring, here is a link to one with Hendrickson; http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=2539659&. I believe in their early days you could get one with torsion bar.

    3. The link above shows one configured as a straight truck. Many have been delivered as such, especially as gas haulers. My friend's was originally a day cab tractor.

    4. PACCAR will build it with whatever suspension you want.

    5. Later T600's could be specced with AG380 which is a 4-bag suspension.

Did it come from the factory like that, though, or was it like your friend's - a road tractor reconfigured for straight truck work?

PACCAR does have their limits as to what they'll build. Back in '05, we tried ordering T600 dumps, and they wouldn't do it. They had to be either T800s or W900Bs. Maybe it was just timing? But we couldn't order them at the time.

Err... I know the AG380, but Hendrickson makes it? I thought it was a proprietary PACCAR product?

Yeah, I knew about the AG380. What was the one made by Hendrickson, though?
