Buy a dump trailer. Then you wouldnt have to worry as much
-
I already own a dump trailer and day-cab. I've worked about 140 hrs total since the new year and things aren't looking to be so swell for the rest of the year. I think I'm worrying an appropriate amount but thanks.

From what I was told, Landstar is requiring all new lease drivers to have EOBR and E-LOGS now, so as long as you have and electronicly controlled engine, u will be ok. Other than that, I'd say call Mercer, especially since u already have the flat.

Schneider, if the truck passes inspection

And SNI requires your truck to have an electronicly controlled engine. That I know for sure as I am leased here now with them. They turned away my buddy with a 78 KW and his 3408 CAT due to the fact that their Qualcomm can't function with the mechanical cat. -
I have seen some older trucks that were in better shape than some of the newer ones. The better paying carriers don't care about the age of your truck as long as it passes the DOT inspection and looks decent. If a carrier is concerned about the age of your truck then they probably don't pay very well.
