I hear that SWIFT requires their drivers to send this message.
USX doesn't have such Macro, but I do get out & look before backing, I think better safe than sorry.

Got a message about 2 weeks ago, 4 drivers where suspended for 1 week for a backing accident. Did not send GOAL msg. This was out of the Cols Terminal.

It might be a good idea for them to have a spotter with a 2 way radio for backing and pulling out.

The truth be told, this is a good policy for the company. They, and every other mega-carrier, hire people that can't even drive a car properly, and put them on the road woefully inadequate to drive a truck. There are reports on here every week of hoods and mirrors being taken off in backing or pulling out accidents. I have had my hood taken off before while sitting at a dock. As long as this practice of putting unqualified drivers in trucks is continued, then the reminder by way of a macro for a driver to get out and look before screwing up is a money saver and good idea for the company.

I also know there are some very good drivers at every company, but with as many trucks as Swift has, just a 10% reduction in backing accidents would save millions. Unfortunately, the "can't drives" makes it so everyone has to do a macro on GOAL. If Swift were mine, and I recruited and trained like them and other mega-carriers, I would do the same thing.
