I agree that the CRE company trucks are governed to 60-63. It may be the same for the leased trucks. I don't know. However, many of the trucks that the Independant Contractors have, go faster.

It's not really a big deal because even if you have a faster truck like mine, you really can't use it due to high fuel cost...

Here is the math for a CRE truck running 4500 miles in a week. It assumes 500 dead head miles, fuel at $3.79(CRE network price last week), 6.68 paid miles per gallon (what I got last week with a 4 year old truck) .80 empty miles and .90 loaded (lowest CRE pays) and .42 per mile fuel rebate (what CRE paid last week)

4,000 x .90= 3,600. Loaded miles
500 x .80 = 400. Empty miles
4,500 x .42 = 1,890. Fuel rebate

Gross. 5,890

(4,500 / 6.68) x 3.79 = 2,553. Fuel cost
.01 x 4500 = 45. Fuel tax
.05 x 4500 = 225. Maintenance holdback
.14 x 4500=. 630. Variable mileage charge
---------------
Total variable cost. 3,453

600. weekly truck payment
162. weekly insurance
46 weekly permit cost
--------
808. Total fixed cost

Total weekly income $1,623
Total annual income $84,396

I can easily do the numbers above at 4,500 miles. Since you can't, you are either on the wrong fuel plan or you are driving in circles...

Never mind ... found it. You seem to have left that out of your equation. So another 540 at .12 mile added to your varible. Take that away from your net $1,623, your real net is only $1,083

By the way your actual weekly average to date is only $3,836. 35% off of your example that you can "easily do" ... but appearently rarely do.

 

That blows my mind also that you have to pay them to train someone for them.

So, on 4500 miles, we get a $1,083 net? Sounds amazing close to what I was saying...EXCEPT we forgot to take out the HUGE amount of workers comp insurance I had to have on my wife. $212 per WEEK.
