the Jessup TA is now patrolled by local police, not what it used to be.
Also since I came back on the road in Jan after a year + absence I've noticed most of the Pilots now provide 2 towels AND a cloth bathmat.

I can not remember what Pilot it was, but when I went in there to take a shower I was prepared for the worst. But I was surprised at how clean the shower was and the water pressure was wonderful. It was strong enough to clean the body odor off the person two shower down. Very happy with my visit. They just need to add parking, LOTS of parking.

Pilot/Flying J have been getting a lot of heat lately. Several bigger fleets have bowed to pressure from their drivers and have moved their fuel stops over to others...mainly Loves.
Now P/J is scrambling to get the business back. The shower campaign (cleanest showers on the Interstate) is a direct result from this.
Be interesting to see how it comes out.
BTW, got the info on all this from our Fuel Director. Not just driver talk.

I know we fuel mostly at Love's lately. I'm thinking it has a lot more to do with the money the company is spending though rather than the showers.

Trust me, the fleets will fuel where it's cheapest.
It's just that Loves has been capitalizing on the dissent from drivers over P/J and matching the Pilot discounts.
So the fleets move over to keep drivers off their back, since the price is the same.

Does Pilot reset your showers and points if you get a different truck? I noticed while I was training my points and shower credit kept resetting every time I entered in a different truck number.... It still shows all my transactions but not the correct point or shower credits?

Not so. TA did a major face lift about 10 years ago and have pretty much kept the new stpores clean. There are a few that were oddball stops which gave us the noteriety of something way off course as it gets dull quick when every truckstop you walk into looks just like every other one out there or a fricken WalMart! Same scene gets old after while!

But they all have nice showers some different than others. If you have a problem it's the same at any other one and ask for a manager or call the 800 corporate office and express your feelings! Every time I called on a problem I always got a few bonus points on the card!

But the thing is, have every card out there and while there get a locator guide for each brand as they're a lot easier to look for the majors than the big book of stops or an exit guide!

The best thing about TA's setup all you have to do is find the machine and run your card. It puts you on the list and that's the only time you really mess with it because unlike Pilot you don't have to go to the desk! Go straight to the shower get done whats needing the water treatment dry off get fixed and leave! Have a problem like need an extra towel get the porter or ask at the desk. That's the only time at most TA's where you have to talk to store personnel.

Any way get a card from every truck stop chain as you never know who you can fuel with especially if you have to go off the beaten path so to speak! Believe it or not I still have my Flying J card from back when they first started using it!
