European truckers have driven to the middle east in the 70's 80's and the early 90's.
www.middenoostenchauffeursnederland.nl maby you can use google translation to read it.

There are better mechanics for todays trucks in middle-east than in Europe. Electronics are no problem because they have pirate copies of diagnose softwares and they can actually repair something, not just change parts like in Europe.

not think only on this but for example today you cant make the fire under fuel tank like on old trucks in case if it freezes

also we have 1987 MB dump truck this winter it starts better on cold morning than lot new trucks

edit this nice scania was in Kyrgyzstan it is when it first time go there it was less than 2year old also it have almost full equipment
and i think in case i go there i would remove aluminum wheels , they are even not good for our roads

Why can't you make fire under fuel tank? I've seen Turks still doing it.

Opticruise or I-shift would be a no-no, too much to fail.

What's the problem with aluminium wheels in Croatia?

    plastic fuel pipes

problems with cracking of ALU wheels because of bad roads especially with 315/70 tires on drive axles or 315/70 on front

and you can just guess what will be with low profile tires like 295/60 355/50 or similar

You just have to make the fire to the outside edge of the tank to prevent it to melt pipes between tank and frame. Better is to prevent fuel waxing by mixing gasoline.

Some log truckers cracked steel wheels and changed to alu wheels because they are thicker and stronger, but they must be forged, not cast like Speedline.

aluminum is about 3 times weaker than steel

    and 3times lighter

those alu rims are about twice lighter than steel so they have to weaker than steel

    only thing about this

usually steel can be easly cracked at about -30C maybe this is only reason why in their case ALU is better

Euro trucks are too plastic and feminine. There must be 1000 lbs of plastic trim on one, purely for looks. Unfortunately this plague has spread to America.

A 2011 Toyota Camry with thin body metal and weight saving aluminum engine pieces weighs more than a 1955 Chevy Bel Air with heavy gauge steel body panels and an iron block.
