Also a huge difference between asking question and cuffing someone. Are you saying that a person MUST answer any question a LEO asks?

Obviously, he was detained, and shook up. If I were him I'd consult an attorney and sue.

She was dragged out of her truck wearing nothing but a nightgown and paraded around barefoot in handcuffs.

Huh? Last time I checked, in the U.S., the police cannot compel anyone to answer questions, nor can you be punished for not answering such questions.

I just have to wonder, looking back on this...what was said between the CHP trainer and that deputy as they were inside my truck and realized I not only am not a drug dealer, but had no weapons anywhere within reach? Did that deputy feel at all like an arse? Probably not.

But it would be nice if he did.

(Add) I wonder whether the Highway Patrolman asked why I would say, "Thank God you're here" before saying anything else...

just to be fair I have a good friend who was yanked out of his truck in the middle of the night at a rest area by a group of leos in TN and his truck was completely pulled apart looking for dope. They didn't find what they were looking and let him go. He took 3 hours putting all his stuff back in his truck. They broke panels and scratched the #### out of his TV and every other object in his truck. SO.... Just to be fair #### happens and sometimes people are people. I know this much I would feel vulnerable also if I was a small women in a truck stop.
