The adventures of 'Team Klingon'

Discussion in 'Questions From New Drivers' started by Lady K, Dec 10, 2010.

  1. Ladyk and Klingon,
We are a month out leasing-so far, so good. Our motivation was the same as yours routing, OTR, ridiculous runs-paticularily east coast and the meat runs.
We are both from business backgrounds and thought long and hard about it first. I'm not s driver, Mark is the driver not sure I really want to despite the advantage to having
    us team.
We see what a lot of the pitfalls are and how central can break you, but that said, if you are careful about everything, keep running and keep a good attitude you should be fine.
I say go to wvc because you will end up having to go there to sign the lease papers and they have a selection of trucks.
We leased a 2011 international that had 125,000 miles on it.
We are averaging 7.2-8.1 mpg and since it was over 100,000 miles. O/O
    Gave us a full tank.
I know there are lots of naysayers out there, but it's really the only way to make acceptable money.
Good luck! If you have any questions contact me and I'll try to help.

    Lady K Thanks this.

We drank the company coolaid and are sitting down and eating the pie... yep we leased. Funny how when we started we were so - 'we are not going to lease, we are going to stay company' and here we are - leased for 35 months... LOL! Well here is a picture of our (their) truck...

It's the company spec. truck, so no 'frills'... but $40/week less. So far so good, but then we haven't seen our first settlement yet either - LOL! Just signed papers on the 29th. So wish us luck, and we will see you out there :yes2557:

Well two loads down as L/O/O :D - I'm not to sure about these dead head miles though... sure we make 'some' $$ but not sure how worth it they are... mmmm... also I'm wondering if its always this slow over holiday weekends... dropped at 0900 this morning - D/H 450+ miles and now waiting until 1800 tomorrow to pick up a 650 mile load - thinking in my head - 'SHOW ME THE MILES!!' - LOL!

    Wedge Thanks this.
