Im governed at 63...Would I like to go faster somtimes, hell yeah!At the same time I have to agree with being governed at least to 65..You are not a road hazard at 62 which is what Swiftys are governed at just a hassle to get around.Going 70+ mph is a road hazard if you asked me but thats just like my opinion...:biggrin_2554:

Really, how do come to that conclusion? I'm 100% bout safety.

My governed truck is 62mph. I'm the guy that taps his brakes, when another driver tries to pass me doing 62.5 mph.

My point being, my company has shown all their going to do for fuel mileage by governing my truck.

If they want more fuel savings, fine, pay me half the savings. I'm the one doing the work to save the fuel. Driving slower, progressive shifting, instead of climbing a hill in max gear, I would drop one more gear, climb the hill at 1300 or 1400 RPMs instead of 1800.

Before you pop off and accuse somebody of something, get all the info first

If you wanna save your company fuel and money fine, more power to ya. But don't you wanna get paid extra for putting in the extra effort?

I say that's lie bout Swift and Arizona. I live and work out Arizona. ABF governs our trucks at 62mph. The state of Arizona has not said one word to my company.

Plus the hazard is the driver going 80. It's a fact, the slower you go, the safer you are.

Blow a steer tire at 80, and see what happens.

I agree, blow 1 at 70..I see so many accidents where this is the fault.

What are you driving and how fast are you driving.

And I dont aim to waste gas its just not part of my thought process its not important to me for some reason.

sometimes company drivers steal saved fuel and sell it to other drivers with lower price, becouse data logers and ECM fuel logers are not very accurate.

I'm careful.. I get 7.2 mpg average right now.

I roll carefully in cities so minimize full stops at red lights... I can usually roll through a bunch and not have to come to a dead stop too many times. Easier on the equipment and better on mileage.

i dont do much city driving i work out of a rail yard and its right off the highway and most of the shippers and recievers i go to are less than a mile form a highway or on raods with minimal lights i lose mileage in the mountains
