One blogger said go see recruiter and get a face to face with them. That's good advice. Those are old felony/misdemeanor(s), so your chances are better providing you have no recent offenses. Don't bother looking into Watkins Shepard, though they are 'felony friendly' they don't hire drug convicts. Indian River will hire but you must have tanker endorsement. Best of luck!
I have a felony for theft and misdemeanors - can I be a truck driver?

If the drug offense is on record that will hurt you with a lot of options.

No, it's not on record. I chose to take the Article 15 so that is sealed in military records. I don't think even the Hazmat background check would pull that up.

Did you get a General Discharge? I fear a Dishonorable Discharge will be a bigger problem to overcome.
-
It was a General Under Honorable discharge. already tried to appeal to make it an honorable but it was denied.
-
While that may raise some questions, IMHO it won't be too hard to overcome.
Good luck.jtx87 Thanks this. -
Well got shot down by a few companies today. Still waiting for Werner, FFE and JBS Carriers to call me back. Swift said to put in an application when I get off of probation, but they may give me a chance.

I'm in no rush anyways, I only have to pay about another $1500 and I can get released early for good behavior. In the end, I think all they really care about is the money. Just trying to plan ahead to get an idea of my future. Paying $3,900 up front to Swift does kind of worry me though.
