Can't go wrong with a Ford truck, take care of them and they will last forever. My dad still drives a 89 F-350

Off topic...first day of orientation with Epes Transport out of Greensboro, NC. Nervous but excited. As long as I can drive the truck, back a 45 without hitting anything and with minimal pullups if needed, I should be fine for that part. If not, I go home. I'm confident I will do fine (lol...just pray for me) After that for the rest of the week we will see what happens. Should be with a trainer by next Sunday. Wish me luck. I will keep you guys posted as the days go by.

Well, I didn't make it :biggrin_2557: I need more practice on my backing. I can try with another company and see how I do there but as far as Epes is concerned I would have to wait 30 days in order to reapply. So, we'll see what happens from here. On my way back home. Not happy.:biggrin_25513:

And that is a MAJOR Reason the economy tanked in 07.....people bought too much house and had too much credit and the "bubble" burst. How can you expect to buy a 200k home making 20k year??

can you look into a differnt company for better miles? No one tells you when you are a newb about the time sitting, short runs, cost of living OTR when they talk
    about CPM.

Some trucking schools will rent out their trucks for practice but it will be e extremely expensive. The only other option would be an owner/operator. He/she might be convinced to let you use his truck to practice with, but I think Satan will have a better chance of having a snowball fight than you will in convincing an O/O to give you the keys to his rig!

Had a class A cdl for 8 years been in all kinds of trucks and all kinds of situations. But if you don't have OTR experiance you don't have any experiance. So if you wanna go OTR. Go OTR.
