It's been 4 years since I drove. Can anyone tell me anything about U.S. Express ? I would like to get back on the road (with my 2 dogs).

I'm in exactly the same boat. I drove about 4 years ago and I'm now wanting to get back to OTR driving again too. I am looking hard at US X too because I have read some good things about them. I drove for another carrier before and they did tell me recently that I could come back and drive for them. The recruiter that I talked to told me that I'd need to be paired up with a driver / mentor for 2 weeks which I was really happy to hear. I was afraid that I might have to go back to driving school and take a refresher course or something like that and money's a little tight for me right now. I'm sure that there are companies that will require some "school refreshing". For instance I've been told that that's what Prime Inc. will require. I'm pleased that my old company looks like they at least will make it a little easier and a lot better money wise since time spent with a mentor is paid weekly. I'm just not too keen on driving for them again but I can if I need to to get my foot back in the door.

I drove for Swift but had an incadent, they told me I could drive for them again only after I had driven with someone else for a year.
After being home for so long it's kinda hard to jump back in the saddle, you know have to get all off you things in order at home first.
I went in on another forum and they said Pride, FFE, Covanant and Werner let you take pets but read the fine print about deposits and how many pets and I'm not familiar with any companies since I only drove for one the whole time. Let me know what you find out.

Hmm ... Well, I just "googled" U.S. Express and what came back was US Xpress.com so I guess it's US Xpress. :)
