Nah...full time....the reason I stay out of DieselBears zone....there must be some local or State ordinance about perversions he would clobber me with!zebcohobo, dieselbear and Injun Thank this. -
I was operating a home-based business at the time. Even though we were going our separate ways, we were still on speaking terms... or so I thought (BIG lesson there). Anyhow, I'm at home, working in my office which is at the end of a very long hallway when I hear her come in. I said "hello", as I usually did, but did not get up to greet her at the door. She didn't respond, and although that was not usual, it wasn't totally abnormal either. Then I hear her walking down the hallway and something doesn't sound right... her pace, the weight of the footfalls and I hear a lot of keys jangling. So I get up to investigate. As I stepped into the hallway, I was greeted with the sight of one of Calgary's finest with his hand covering his holster. I said, "Well, you're not Susan."
Anyhow, to make a long story, short... she had told the police there was an unknown intruder in the house. So they met her outside and came in to investigate. The fact that I was still in my housecoat (at 4:00 in the afternoon ) definately played in my favour. After I showed the officers (very shortly there were quite a few there) all my stuff still in the drawers and closets they realized her story was bogus. After they told her there was nothing they could do and they couldn't force me to leave she just about had an aneurysm.
I told the Sgt. that showed up that given the circumstances I didn't really want to stay, even though I didn't have to leave. I asked him if they would mind sticking around while I rounded up some help to get my stuff out, rather than them having to come back again when she made another bogus call (I know, arresting her would have been better, but they really wanted to just make the problem go away). The Sgt. said that was fine, so in about 15 minutes I had 10 people there packing my stuff.
The best part was that I ordered pizza for all (including the cops), all my stuff got moved and the cops helped and mostly ignored her as she was ranting about me "stealing her stuff".johnday Thanks this. -
