I have a delivery at a Wally DC in North Platte, NE. Gonna use up most of my clock to make it. Will they let you do your 10 in their lot during/after unloading?

 

Nope, but theirs a loves and flying j 50 yds away

 

I saw that but they fill up early and I am afraid I won't find a spot.

 

When is ur appt you should be allright and if their are no sports go to the west bound side and park on the road in between the hotel and the pump n pantry, or you can park on the road behind the flyin j leading to the boss truck shop.

Theres also a Walmart at the next exit west, I believe, and a rest area just east of there. Believe its before the scales.

 

Did I read right - JBS pays short miles (Zip Code to Zip Code)? I was told that they paid Practical Miles (Address to Address).

 

I guess doc and the other drivers are right, it's "hhg" or short miles, when i was talking to Julie in recruiting i was told the same. Practical is better and more so on shorter hauls then long hauls. Back in the late '80's i was on "hhg"and hauled beer out of Milwaukee and the runs to St.Louis were 400 actual miles and was payed for 360 what a burn, when i hauled to Denver the actual miles was 1,045 or 1,049 and was payed for 1,025 miles.These actual miles can still change because of the distance in the zip code area. You can go to Google, MapQuest, RandMcnally and make up runs and you can see the differance.

 

Even when a company says they pay "practical miles", it definitly aint from address to address. You'll always be short anywhere from 4 to 10 %.

 

Got to PFG in Little Rock 1 hour early and they didnt even get started unloading until 2 hours after my time and then they refused half of the load due to some type of problem, says there computer will not let them accept the pallets of BABY BACKs so here I sit until they make up their minds now late for my dry goods pick up which means late to my meet up to switch loads to come home. Might make it home sometime this week.
