Guess I better correct the children here then let's let this die.

Hmmm you continue to whine about this yet I'm doing the bickering? :biggrin_25523: But hey you're off topic too so lets not cast rocks when we live in glass houses shall we? Also your assumption about hijacking is wrong, but I'm not going to bother explaining.

Yeah you are Mike. The name calling further proves it, too bad that's all you can do is call names behind a monitor.

Keep your ticket ...... Even if you don't use it for YEARS ......

As for TECH CLASS .... I had mine for about 30 years ....

From 1983 to 2005 I had to worry about my handicapped son who at 22 tried to kill me the wife and our 16 year old Dachshund dog ...... It was only then that they placed him in a home .....

I was restricted to running out of the car since he would smash anything that got in his way .... HAM radio was limited while I took care of everything else.

Never give up a license ......

A glass top stove he busted with his hands
One of the bed rooms after he tried to toss the rocker through the window
Our Dachshund at 18 years old ( She was part spanual )

    A NOTE TO ADMIN

This is the PM sent me. Look at the things being said and who is doing the talking. ADMIN ban me if you wish but if this board is worth coming to then why don't you take a close look at the reason for the so called 'bickering'. My point was not only is every thread on this site hijacked by ham operators coming in with threats of law against people here talking about CB but they also start threads about the subject. This bickering as you call it would end quite simply if you as ADMIN would do something about it. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought this was a CB forum on a truck drivers website. Am I wrong about this? Look at the pattern of what is being said and who is doing the talking. Why is a truck driver not allowed by admin to come to this site and discuss his new Connex radio without the threats, complaints, and endless hijack? Why as admin do you not do something about it?

Truck driving was the last of the 'cowboy spirit' or if you will the 'free spirit' left in this country. This was the way it was in the years I drove (70s). Has this changed? Is the spirit of the 'free American' gone forever?

The simple reality of trucking today is virtually every one of them runs an export class radio or a model similar to a Cobra 29 which has been tuned up. Or have truckers evolved down to cheap plastic radios terrified they may do over 3 watts?

Please explain to me ADMIN why you do not enforce rules which allow these drivers to come here and talk about the radios they are using in peace? You stated 'back on topic or you will close the thread'. Have you yet to see that they will simply hijack the next thread where a driver dares to discuss the radio he is running. Then someone like me will complain about the hijack, a ham will come in on the attack against the person complaining. Then ADMIN will close the tread. The mission of the ham has been accomplished, no trucker gets to talk about the radio he is running which some ham operator does not approve of. You see this will not be the first thread to be closed for this reason.

This site is for everybody to use, and if one members is bothering you, there's a simple answer for that issue. Place them on ignore. If someone breaks the rules, then yes, they get a warning, if they continue, they get an infraction, and if that doesn't stop them, they are shown the door.

No, which is why we have a diverse membership here that includes ham operators.
Again, everyone participating in the forum has the ability to place any member on ignore and simply skip over their posts. We do not censor the subject of the thread, but when it becomes a problem in the aspect of constant back and forth bickering, we post warnings, and deal with issues from there.

The PM system is reserved for just that. PRIVATE messages, and we frown upon someone posting a PM in the public forum, to prove a point.

We moderate, we don't decide who gets to be part of a thread and who does not. But we DO decide when someone has worn out their welcome by constantly breaking the rules here.

    Hello bullhaulerswife/administrator,
I am new to this site and for the most part it is enjoyable to read some of these posts .Do you think that some of this quarreling might end if the Ham Operators had a place to share their knowledge? I see a place for everyone else to pass on what they know but there is nothing for Ham Operators. Personally I would enjoy learning more about the subject without having to filter through hundreds of posts that end up being personal attacks. Can you add a Ham Radio Forum? That way those who want to learn can and those that don’t, do not have to visit it. Just a thought!

The problem is not HAM or CB it's 2 people who have a problem with each other :biggrin_25513:

No that is not the problem. AB7IF did not attack anybody personally. "Somebody" took it personally! It's obvious to some of us what is going on here. I'm probably going to end up getting banned. But I don't really care. I'm a member of other boards on other topics where there are no self appointed "police" to tell me my pipes are too loud or scold me for my nitrous bottle.

I came here to talk about truckin and cb. Not to be preached to about rules and my "illegal" radios. I resent it and will continue to protest. Bruce, you are as bad as any of them about preaching the rules, just not as obnoxiouis and hateful. I can live with that if you can take me poking fun at you for doing it.:biggrin_25522: The other guy tries to pick dirty little fights by calling names and saying degrading things in an attempt to tick me off. Little does he know that he cracks me up with all his bravado....talk about hiding behind a screen!!!

Anyway, I've got a "warning" from the admin......beats the heck out of a "ticket" in my line of work!!!!:biggrin_2559: (oh yeah, most of you non-truck driving types on this truck driving board probably wouldn't understand that last comment!:biggrin_25523:)
