    I'll confirm Corporal's post.
Finished my lease with a net income considered good to excellent in virtually everyone's book. Now am purchasing my truck and will be O/O leased to Stevens.
So went from trainee to O/O with Stevens in just under 3 years.

    Corporal_Clegg and DenaliDad Thank this.

Thanks Corporal, I am a new driver and would like to know out of the 42 cpm, what expenses are not covered by Stevens that lower your take-home pay?

The only thing that doesnt really include is my health insurance, cause I have my own outside the company and pay it seperately.

(??) But he's not a company driver. While we're at it lets compare his income to someone who is unemployed, or maybe Donald Trump, or maybe the Queen of England or any other pointless entity you want to name. Please read up and study the phrase apples to apples, then make a comment that makes sense. It is interesting that every Stevens driver signs a contract and everyone signs on the dotted line accepting these terms and conditions, so where is the problem? You know what the CPM, home time & benefits will be. So why are ex Stevens drivers so pissed about it? You knew, you all did.

    DenaliDad Thanks this.

The reason leasing applies to me is that my income is almost entirely determined by me. Being a retired fed, I have an annuity that covers the mortgage, house expense, and the very good insurance I pay for. I also have kids and grandkids living all over the country; seeing them is important. If I need the time off to be in, say Salt Lake City to be with my son's kids, I get the DM with whom I have a grand relationship - see how positive I am? - just to preplan a trip that way.

While it isn't impossible to do that as a company driver, it wouldn't be as easy.

Stevens recruiter was at our school today and was told new drivers start at .27 a mile. So how long do you have to drive for Stevens before you make .42 cpm?

I have been with Stevens a little less than a year. Im an Alliance Lease Operator. My pay is based on the profit I squeeze out of running my truck. As company driver it would take you about 15+ years to make that much.
