Maverick has truck washes at two of their terminals, HQ at North Little Rock and Madison terminal. They are open 24/7 unless closed due to being out of soap or maintenance issues, etc. Any driver is allowed to run their truck through once a week at the washes at the terminals. We also have a contract with Blue Beacon. It used to be once every 30 days for a wash at a "streakin beacon" but they reduced that number to 21 i believe, due to what i was told, SW seeing alot of his trucks filthy looking and also to facilitate trailer brightening. The washes at the terminals i believe had the trailer brightening chemical added to the mix cause it seems like since the beginning of summer after running the truck through the wash, the trailers do seem a bit brighter than after a normal wash. The wash at the terminals is free but Maverick pays for the washes at the streakin beacons (unless you miscount the days on your calendar and go through a day or two early, right sewerman?) and of course if you are sent to some mudhole to pu or deliver, you can send your fleet manager a message to get approved for a wash before whatever time period it is nowadays. I'm sure some drivers do wash their trucks at home but what they choose to do with thier home time is up to them. "home time is home time" is what i say and tell my students as well. you'll have plenty of time in the truck all week to do whatever you want to and hey, 10 hours and one minute of down time if you want to handwash your truck in the truckstop parking lot. lol

I'm glad you are asking alot of questions and love it when my students do the same.

Flatbedder 1966 and sewerman Thank this.

I try to tell it like it is so that people can make an informed decision based on facts and not hype. I do not pretend to be a know it all...just tell what I know and what I hear from reliable sources.

    Best of Luck to you!

The more the merrier....as long as you do not call me a liar! lol
I was the last to get rolling yesterday as I could not deliver until 1600.
I was back to my usual this morning. I got up at 0200 when I should have got up at 0330...not sure how I messed that up but I did.
This week was excellent 3069 miles.:biggrin_25520:
I deliver in Troy Va on tuesday.
It is nice when you see everyone helping each other!

The more I thought about you calling me a liar...the more pissed off I got!
Who the Hell are you to accuse me of lying! Why would I say I was on paper logs if I was not? I could really care less if you believe me or not!
As for how long I will have my truck, Kay checked and said it would be probably until the end of the year or early spring.
Why don't you start your own thread called...." Dan From Windsor, Maverick Know it All" Because that is the way you are coming off to me....either way, I could care less what you think!:biggrin_25513:

If you dont care then why are you pissed off? As for calling you a liat I just said you'll have to show me because I have seen noone since June on paper. As for how long you have your truck I didnt dispute when you would get anything. I just corrected your incorrect assumption that trades were done specifically in order of number. They are not. Ive been here 8+ years and Ive seen more than one newb give false or bad info on here and I call it the way I see it. You dont like it I could give a rats behind. Just be sure of your facts before you give advice to someone asking questions. Otherwise be prepared to have someone correct you.

Gentlemen please, I have known jim for a long time. All information that he posts is exactly what he was told from maverick. Dan what you said about the trucks is true it's not just the year but mileage and maintenance. jim just posted what he was told and yes he is still on paper logs and there are still more good drivers that are on paper logs. And Jim I think it started with yes and no I don't think anyone was calling anyone a liar. Both of you gentlemen are good sources of information for drivers on this board. Like the old saying goes sometimes a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. My favorite saying is I am correct 98% of the time and wrong 2% it's up to you to figure out what that 2% is. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Let's get back to being professional flatbed drivers and not be acting like a bunch of sissy doors swingers. Just my two cents.
