Those lunchboxes were classics. I remember having the Incredible Hulk and Scooby Doo. You think about it though, a bologna sandwich sitting at room temperature for 4-5 hours probably was about to spoil. Us kids were on the verge of food poisoning and didn't even know it.

About 5th grade the box was out and the bags were in. I never had to save them though.
I wonder what they pay for a lunch today. I remember .35 and then .50. Milk was a nickel and ice cream .15

I'm quite a bit older than you are Condo. But what they called "hot lunch" was .35. Can't remember what anything else was. In fact, just remembering those "hot lunch" meals is enough to keep me from eating the rest of the day. . .
