The shuttle takes you to the post office, where you put in your app. They CAN take this out of your first couple of settlements IF you ask ahead of time. It will, however, be sent to your home 20 as well as your birth certificate which you will need to let them borrow.

 

I heard at school/orientation they have about 40-50 students per week. I know they cut that number to half or more after background search or failing drug test, but if say like 25 pass will they all get trucks after training or will they wait a while, and while they are waiting will prime continue to pay for hotel room or send them home until a truck become available? Or is it that many drivers quitting where those newbies can get those trucks?

 

What is the cost for the twic,hazmat check and passport?

 

Last time I was in the yard they did have a waiting list for trucks. From what I heard these guys were still in the motel, and were getting paid for the wait time.

 

That I don't know...exactly. The TWIC/Passport was about $200 total. As for hazmat, that is around $100. At least in OK.

 

That's good that they get paid while they wait, but why would prime hire so many that they don't have enough trucks for the drivers that are ready to go and make them some money instead of costing themselves to put out more money? Seems like they would put on a hire freeze until they get the drivers that they already have a truck then, then start to hire again. I don't think drivers are quitting so fast that they need all those drivers do they? Maybe they get the money back from the extended hotel stay out of those drivers checks when they go solo or team? Weekly payments until its paid. That way they won't loose that extra money they put out.

 

everyone should have a passport anyway not just because a job says you need one.if you wanted to take a trip out of the country(even canada but who wants to go there?) you couldn't without a passport. just go to your local post office,pay the fee and they will mail it to you. simple right.

 

In Michigan, you don't have to take the CDL written test to transfer, but they make you take the hazmat test. Michigan is a strange place.

 

I understand what you are saying, but me personally i have no desire to go outside of the u.s.a. I have nothing against countries outside of the u.s.a. I would not need to waste my time to get a passport. But if it is required by prime i will get one, but i will be turning down the canada and mexico runs. The u.s.a. has enough miles for me.

 

I don't got a passport or hazmat. Guess I'm a rebel.
