Yup that how it's done. Can't idle, no APU, see ya. I have an APU and if it don't work then I can idle. I just have to send a message to the shop. APU don't work running the truck. That's the way it should be with all companies that have this policy. If they don't care about me, then I don't care about them. It's just that easy.

If you push in your tractor brake valve you should be able to set your cruise control and idle .....it works sometimes to override the idle shutoff if its air powered....

You can still find throttle sticks at some truck stops. Not many mind you but some. Get one just in case. Ya never know if you'll need it. There cheap. As for me I used to go and cut a stick.

You can still get a throttle stick at some truck stops. And there cheap too. Or do as I do and cut some sticks to size. Use one to disengage the clutch and one on the the gas. This will work every time. If one is needed on the brake then so be it. 2 to three sticks, all free all you kneed is a knife. But if you have to go that far it's time to find a new job.

Trucks are programmed to not idle between 35 & 70 degrees. Anything above or below the truck will idle as long as you tap clutch when idle shutdown shows to override and keep idling.

Correct, and all the trucks have bunk heaters that don't require the truck to idle.

Just have to stay awake to catch it ... LOL!

    Heck, wasn't not long ago it was 45 - 70? 40 - 70 ...

Just wait a few months and the range will be 20 - 80 ... 15 - 85 ... it's obvious this outfit don't care about drivers health and safety, cross this one off the list.

You guys sound like a bunch of freak'n robot/sheep.

Yes....the truck is SUPPOSED to idle at certain temperatures---but EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE I have ever talked to that has/had a truck with that "so-called'" technoligy has told me IT DON'T ####### WORK!!!

Instead of sticking up for the company, and saying "don't drive for them....you heard it in orientation".....why not hold the company, the owners of the truck, the people who have hired people to operate THEIR truck to make money for THEM, so that THEY can be profitable enough to keep THEMSELVES in business. Yah; you know.....THOSE GUYS.
Yes, why don't we stop blaming drivers for wanting a job....instead; start blaming companies like Knight with their worthless non-working #### technoligy, that does NOTHING other than create a hostile work environment....because the working conditions are unbareable.

In any other profession, working conditions "extreme heat or cold", when it is not part of the job description is illegal.....yet you God #### monkey's condone it because "they told you in orientation".

It's people like you that accept this treatment, that keeps holding the industry back....companies LOVE you sheep, because then they'll ALWAYS win with their low pay, crap benefits, and worthless idle-free equipment. #### it, I get sick of the stupidity!
