If the apu's don't work, the co's are too darn cheap to fix them.

I am told that Knight Refridgerated is a whole different animal. I sure hope so since I am scheduled for orientation as soon as I finish school. (Oct. 24)

Apu's, going in the woods to find some twigs or some #####, & putting the sensor in a cold cup of water (lamo) are all fine, but if I were driving a knight reefer truck I would grab my 0 degree sleeping bag, therma rest pad and hop in the back a take a huge comfy nippy in the trailer & careless.

Knight is deceptive in their hiring practices. They don't place an ad stating that you will have to sleep in 79 degree heat because of their idling policy. Drivers find this out on the 3rd or 4th day of orientation after they have invested their time and are compelled to just accept the fact and hope it isn't that bad. The recruiters are trained to deflect this question if it is comes up during a phone interview. There isn't one experienced driver that would allow themselves to be in a situation like that. Knight preys are inexperienced drivers and portray a corporate mindset that their policies are typical industry practices and that the grass isn't greener on the other side. All the younger new drivers need to know that there are plenty of BETTER companies that will like to have you driving for them.

Well safety told us that basically use common sense when idling that you don't have to grill like a piece of meat. When out of trk don't run it & things like that .

I worked for this crappy company for 4 months and here's what I got....ran illegal logs the WHOLE TIME, never got to sleep right because of the "favors" I had to do with city work, using line 5 (off duty driving) to make a quick local drop, while in the sleeper for a reset, picked up late loads 90% of the time wich meant HAUL ##### to get there, $7,000, never had an appointment when I showed up for p/u, REALLY CHEAP FREIGHT as in max payload and no miles, constant harrassment by the office, 3 blow-outs, 2 breakdowns, 4 level one DOT inspections in CA,NM,OR and WY, my logs altered to create more drive time by "chopping off" PTI times WITHOUT MY KNOLEDGE OR CONSENT, lots of stress and just very, very, very unhappy with the company... Knight Transport f'n sux!:biggrin_25510:
