At very small service plaza at Florida Turnpike. For the first time in 3 and half yrs I couldn't find a spot to park.... and no more hrs to run... :biggrin_25513: So I parked right where sign says "no parking".... and started walking around, trying to figure out if I could back up and move to the car's area maybe.... A state tropper patrolling the area came to me and asked if there was a problem... I explained the situation and he said I am fine right there.... :biggrin_25519: Nice state trooper... :yes2557:

Day 2 of home time here at la casa de estrogen.
Going to stop by the school I went for my CDL training and say hi to everyone and try not to scare the students away from trucking.

dont' try outside of the WalMart DC in Arcadia. Desoto County Sheriff go down there just to write tickets for drivers parking next to the signs (i know first hand). Funny thing is that i spent the night next to the sign.. woke up and started to roll and got a message sayin they have load for me.. pulled back over and waited. 2min later sheriff parks next to me and asks what i'm doing, i tell him i'm waiting on my load information. He says that's not a good enough reason and writes me a ticket for violation of traffic control device which is 3pts on license and 12 on CSA.. i asked why didn't he just write it as a non moving violation and he just walked off...

'Cause he was being a d***head. Failure to obey a traffic control device is more money than a parking ticket.

If no inspection and not a DOT guy, no CSA points. I think I would be fighting that one. You were not parked there. You had stopped for a minute in a safe place to communicate with your company. Parking means staying there for hours. He didn't write you for staying the night. He wrote you for pulling the air brake to check your messages.

It doesn't say no Stopping. It says no Parking. There's a difference. :biggrin_25523:

Every couple hundred days of doing this,I have a good one.Got unloaded faster than I could get the chains and straps put away, and then went 20 miles to get a load of galvanized steel;and they actually put off their lunch break to load me..

Still, thought maybe I could meat,:biggrin_2556:er,meet 1nonly maybe, don't look like it..Guess I am destined to wander around this wilderness without ever really meeting anyone from this #### forum:biggrin_25511:

And yet, which reminds me as I am taking a break in New Caney, about 20 miles South of Dave1960's home, what has happened to him? Has he become a Sanitation Engineer? Or,did he slip into a compacter, and is now living in one of those rectangular cubes? And,if so,is he happy there?:biggrin_2556:

Well, gonna giddy-up,and make my way for Wisconsin..

My husband called last night and said he was "near" Chicago, Illinois - whatever "near" means.

Well, if you ever get into Little Rock, Arkansas (I am willing to go as far as the Pilot or the Petro closest to the Maverick terminal since I know where they are), I would be willing to meet up. Just remember I am geographically challenged so meeting places would need to be either places I have been before or that AT&T Navigator can successfully get me to without getting me lost :biggrin_2559:
