Wedge...I feel like I'm following in your footstep.....eh...in your tracks. I finished my 80 hours of classroom teaching today...now the fun begins...70 hours of drive time. Got my permit last week, and am following up with my fingers crossed, to go with Roehl..sometime next month. I just ran into an old friend at Dunkin Donuts...when I told him what I was up to...his eyes widened....."no kidden!" he said... You're gonna drive those big rigs?....I could see the excitement in his eyes... I could almost read his mind...I wish I could do that...." well, I'm excited..can't wait to hit the road.

    sammycat and Wedge Thank this.

Glad to hear things are going well. Enjoy the instruction time because it goes by pretty fast.

If you're considering Roehl, you should talk to Hamsterrock74. He has a thread on here, and works for them. If you go back through my posts, you'll find some by him. He can tell you all about them.

I get the same reaction from people when they find out I drive the big trucks. I'm amazed how many questions they have.

Good luck with the BTW training.

Congrats on all you have done since your last posts! Seems like you are on the way! Yes hamsterrock74 is a good source of info on Roehl although I have not seen his posts for awhile....
I hope you get some information about USX from Wedge too. I told you the ex worked for them and they really were pretty decent company. Plus being in NY it helps (well it did being in Rochester anyways since there is a secure lot here to drop a trailer)
Keep us posted on how you are doing!!!!

    Hey Wedge!!!

Glad you stopped in and got your power supply finally settled!! If you were in Cleveland yesterday (Friday?) and headed to NJ you are probably coming ''close'' to me depending on your route. Someday since USX does come thru Rochester alot! (well depending on what route cuz they do alot of NE dedicated like Dollar Tree)
It would be NICE ;) to meet someone from TTR besides Dave LOL!!! There is a new TTR member(something akin to reptle or such that is also from Rochester that is in the process of looking at schools)

Glad you knew that old paper way when your driver tech went out! You are right we do depend on modern technology ALOT! I am sure some day someone will need to READ a map and not know how to do it (I am sure there are people now that can't and depend on their navagation units)

Keep posting when you can and keep it between the ditches!!!!!!

    Wedge Thanks this.

Markus, if you are filling out apps to different companies make sure that you are calling them. They most likely won't call you. They get hundreds if not thousands of apps a day so you have to make yourself stand out a little.

    Wedge Thanks this.

I'll stay safe. One day we may just happen to meet.

I see you're an ex-driver. Who did you work for?
