I pulled doubles one Christmas season when I was leased to Ranger Trans pulling UPS excess from their Jacksonville DC. (we're talkin the "old" days):biggrin_25525: It was ok as long as ya hooked em up right(dolly to tail trailer, then front trailer to dolly), AND the weather was OK....lol

I really couldn't imagine pulling a set of pups in the freakin snow...lol.

I'm just stopping by, hopefully everyone is doing well!

Just spoke with a Prime Trainer (Not Recruiter) a Trainer... for about 2 hours or so. I really seem to like Prime, He seems to be very truthful and He seems to love the Company as he had 10 Years Driving :) Which is awesome resource for me.
He said when is my way he'll teach me few tips and "Tricks of the Trade" etc and Help me with Pre-Trips, Driving, Shifting etc etc..

February 12 is only 3 months or so away :) Can't Wait! Already trying to figure the best method of going out there.

Should i get my permit now, and If I should, Do i have to come back to CA to get my CDL or should i get my non-residential permit out there in Springfield and my Non-Residential CDL out there as well and get it transferred to CA? or how should that work? whats the best thing to do?

I'm just starting tomorrow as, but definately get your CDL-A permit at home before you get to SprgMo. A bit less pressure in what is gonna be a hectic week. As far as your actual CDL-A, I Believe you have to test here after your PSD phase, but if I am wrong, one of the current Prime drivers can correct me. Good luck to you.

If you are going through PSD, you take your CDL-A test at Prime. Then your FM gets you and your trainer a load running through home so you can get your home state CDL. However, due to logistical snafu's, most recommend waiting to get a Hazmat endorsement until you get home. Transferring an H endorsement can lead to paying for fingerprints again. (I don't know if it's the case everywhere, but, better to be safe than sorry.)

Haz mat endorsements don't transfer. Gotta do the TSA thing each time plus each renewal.

    From: http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/hazmat/index.shtm

The TSA Hazardous Materials Endorsement Threat Assessment Program conducts a security threat assessment for any driver seeking to obtain, renew, or transfer a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) on a state-issued commercial drivers license (CDL). The program was implemented to meet the requirements of the USA PATRIOT Act which prohibits states from issuing a license to transport hazardous materials in commerce unless a determination has been made that the driver does not pose a security risk. The Act further requires that the risk assessment include checks of criminal history records, legal status, and relevant international databases.

If you seek to obtain, renew, or transfer an HME on your CDL, you must apply for a security threat assessment. TSA rules require you to begin applying for the security threat assessment at least 30 days prior to the expiration of your CDL.

Well, I found the answer to my question from 3 different recruiters and 16 different Prime Drivers

Is Yes, If your going through the Prime's Driver Training Program, It's best to get your Permit in your home state before you leave for Prime, and Once you come back to prime to take your CDL Test, You'll apply for a non-residential CDL A License and once you get time you then transfer it to your home town/state.

It's best to do it this way so you have more time in the classroom and more time studying about other things while everyone is hitting the books and studying thier Arses off.

    Any "Disagreements"?
