This is a cop out. This is a good question to ask on a support thread. I have had two 710 units I had to send the first one in twice for issues before they gave me a new one. I first got the 710 back in feb 2011.
I had nothing but trouble with it but I still stayed with it. I realy like my 710 I have now but will not pay for map update.
As a rep for rand you should atleast let the company know what the customers that are using their product think and pass along ideas.

As a business owner in the past I always wanted to know what my customers think and would like to see, Even if I did nothing about it.:yes2557:

Word does get passed back. But again I am not in Marketing nor do I make decisions on Promo's.

A support thread deals with support issues on the product itself. Not Marketing.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Questions on mapping, routing, upgrades, and trouble shooting are all directed to Lets see what is it called I know ( customer support )
All we wanted to know is what we can do. Just as if we needed to update the tnddock and had issues. it is all part of support.

I was the messenger on the Promo. I was asked to post it here. I am not in any position to alter/change the rules of the promo.

I am here if you have issues, questions or items of the such with the TND.

I am not here to discuss what the marketing department has put out.

If you have questions on the Promo then I suggest you call Rand Support directly and talk to them about your issue.

Again, I am the messenger and I work in R&D, not marketing.

If you have a concern about the TND that you are having or a question about the TND then I will be most happy to answer it. Remember, I do not compare the TND to other truck navigation units.

Let's get this thread back on track with support issues, not marketing issues.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So if the unit will not see roads that are truck friendly, speed limits that are not right, mile marker issues, all issues that can be fixed with an update in mapping we should not ask you how to get the new unit we paid $500 for fixed. thats funny.:biggrin_2559:

Truck Friendly - that is because other trucks are on it or it is legal? Many times roads get turned in that will not be routed on and no signs posted, come to find out their are truck restrictions on that road.

Speed Limits - tied to the map database. Rand is working on a solution to provide updated to speed limits via updates. But, VA changed their speed limit after the Maps passed QA.

Mile Marker issues - CA goes by county mile markers. Other states if you have an issue let me know. Most are correct.

Mapping is not updated via the Dock at this time. It is about 2.5gb and is updated via a new map update on an SD card.

    Thanks,
    mark

Question - anyone currently have a 710 that the sound has stopped working? I am doing some testing and would like a driver to assist. I do not have one physically here in my office.

    Thanks,
    Mark

With my tnd 700 I am noticing that there are alot of speed limits missing in South Dakota and Nebraska. US18 is an example, I can understand county roads not having speed limits but State and US highways should be mandatory

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

While I agree that specific truck routing is important as well as turn by turn info, etc. But isn't specific speeds posted on the side of any given hwy, whether or not they are interstates or secondary hwys.
Do we need to rely on a GPS for everything?
