Let your company-side FM know that you're interested. You may need to volunteer for NE, but there seems to be a lot of that kind of work these days and they do get around.

It slows down, but I've never encountered "no or very little miles" either on the company or lease side running solo.

    reptij Thanks this.

Are those lightweights as strong as the regular trucks, because I've pulled sum hills in the regular trucks at 25-30 that almost had the water temp in the red... I don't want to blow up like I've seen two trucks do already. Those were big trucks tho and I don't know what caused them to burn down. I'm pretty tall so the lightweight may not work for me.... But I heard that's all they give the newbies.

Once more. If there IS a full size available, and you have a valid reason you can request a full size truck. And you might get it.

They have the lightweights because they can pull more in the box. That's a weight issue, tho. JCW has pulled across the Smokeys and Appalachians with his lightweight, with full loads and hasn't had any issues. It's plenty strong.

Its a trade off... The cute trucks have smaller engines, Cascadias have the DD13 instead of the DD15, but the trucks weigh less.

So that means you will be going even slower up a hill.

He's pulling on the Smokeys and the Apps at 40 to 45, depending on weight and incline. Granted, not the Rockys, but that should give you an idea. Load weight currently, 39.7k

Most likely... Smaller engine, less power, more weight in the trailer.

That's the part of driving the truck i don't like going really slow on mountainous terrain. DTB i think the rpm's have not been turn down on that truck, the truck i used to drive was a full size condo but on hills it went way less than 40 miles an hr with 39k in box.

My flatbed trainers truck wouldnt pull hills for nothing. Even with a 6,000 pound foam load, I still had to downshift. My truck will pull almost any hill, even with 47,000 pounds, but itll kill my fuel mileage. So I end up doin like 25....

JCW's comment: if you are red-lining water temp, your RPMs are too high.
