Ya, keep the rpms down otherwise it will get very hot very quick. When the engine fan kicks on itll assist in killing your mpgs.

They most definitely turn that truck down if it would hardly pull a foam load, unless the turbo is going.

Slow and steady wins the race! :) Just keep saying that! When the super truckers go by honking just smile and wave. You are a professional that is doing the job the best they can with the equipment supplied and being successful. That should give you pride! Dont ever let anyone get you down or tell you otherwise.

Exactly. Its my equipment, not theirs.

So the burning question is this:

What weighs more? 6,000 pounds of steel or 6,000 pounds of foam? :biggrin_25523:

Id rather have the steel... Foam cant be tighened down very hard because youll damage it. Foam also presents a nice target for the wind, and has to be tarped. Great for fuel mileage though...

So you're saying you get better mileage hauling 6,000 lbs of foam than 6,000 lbs of steel?

Depending on the wind... Foam presents more of a target than the steel does. Weight bein equal, there is less steel. Which means its a lower load.
