I would reccomend it. Another member was thinking of goin tanker, he lives in SC. They said he could do it, but he chose flatbed instead. You might be able to do it from where you live. Just talk to um, all they can say is "no".

I did not mention anything about transferring a hazmat endorsement. I simply stated that you should be able to get the written test out of the way when you test for your permit. One less worry down the road, while in training.

Right. Sorry I wasn't clear in my response. Getting the hazmat test "out of the way" in Michigan doesn't work because they don't "save" the hazmat written results until you get a CDL. You have to hold a CDL. I don't know about any other state, which is why a call to the local DMV is appropriate.

Sounds like a good topic for a new thread, not just a question here. You might get more and better answers.

Primes tanker division is VERY small.

Most of there runs are on the NE side. Call and ask them on the location thing. It shouldn't make a difference. But would affect hometime.

Things to keep in mind. We only have a couple hundred tankers, they do run all 48, but mostly NE. Most of there runs are short. Driving with liquid in the trailer sucks.

And we do not have any tanker drivers on this forum. Heck, we only got like 3 flatbedders and that division is twice the size of the tankers.

    cwc Thanks this.
