Okay, today was the Dr visit and it when as well as I could expect..I am released for full duty and no restrictions...Yay!
My wife assures me she will get her CDL so..I tried a 3rd time with USX and vuala, I am prehired. Just had to send in Dr. note from today stating that I have no restrictions for duty as a OTR truck driver, which I did.
I have also been looking at W&S and if I send in my MVR and a copy of my last DOT Physical Long Form, I could start their orientation next monday, the 29th of Aug.
I have spent many hours researching and researching and asking questions of drivers from both company's. There are only little things that I do not like from each one but nothing major. Both have good pay, both have good miles and both seem to have good trucks. I guess my decision is based only on two things now; 1)the drive to orientation and 2)starting pay I don't care about Ins, vacation, 401K or any of those kind of things. I care about being treated farely, good equipment, good pay and plenty of what is needed to make good pay.
Well, will follow up when I get my date for Orientation.

I see your from TN. Don't overlook a smaller outfit out of Indianapolis called Venture Logistics. www.venlog.com. I went from TMC to them and am very happy. They run 400-500 trucks. Mostly Freightliner Columbia's. We have a Cascadia's as well and plenty of new ones coming. I get home every weekend and there are people from all parts of the Mid-east (TN, KY, GA, AL, etc) that do as well. BTW I'm not a recruiter but I do think what happened at TMC is BS.

I apologize for not responding to this thread sooner,,you are right DenaliDad... I have moved on now, from the Army and TMC.. My wife will be graduating in about two weeks from CDL school and about 3 days or so later, she will be in the truck with me. I have decided to NOT leave my life, or familys life, in the hands of any Government, whether that be local, state or Federal... I will leave my life in the hands of our Lord and myself.

Hey Sheep Dog, so sorry to hear you got hurt while on reserve status. That sucks guy. as you know, TMC "let you go" because you could not report for duty, being on injured status from the Guard. Its in no way a fair situation. But, thats the life of a reservist!! I served 21 yrs in the Army Reserve, served time in Iraq for over a year. As a retired soldier(reserve) I dont get half the benifits of active duty soldiers! Sucks man, I really hate it for you. Glad to hear your wife is gonna truck with you though. Thats cool. Be safe guy. Thank you for your service to our country!!!

Hey thanks Rogue. I assume your in the top bunk? How much space do you have while sharing his truck? Also, I've ALWAYS wanted to know.... what do you do all day while your driving? I also assume your logging 8-10 hrs a day behind the wheel? Has it gotten old yet doing the same thing everyday? And, how are you getting on the internet? Are you using an aircard, or do you wait for wi-fi somewhere? And while with the trainer, what are you doing for your 10hr down time, besides sleeping? When do you get to go solo? And lastly.... hows TMC treating you so far? Thanks guy. Be safe.
