Crete has two dedicated in CO...so I imagine thats Denver. There is another company that has a bunch of places in the midwest...and has a spot out in Denver...but for the life of me, I can't find out which one. I even remember what their website looked like sort of.

I hadn't seen that post below before about Denver. While Crete no longer has a terminal there, the do have a drop lot within the yard of another company. You'd probably have no trouble getting based out of Denver and be able to park your car there when taking home time.bb.

Just in case you're thinking of Navajo......

Navajo is based in Denver, but do NOT work for these guys. They're a high-turnover reefer outfit that used to advertise way over in Salt Lake begging for drivers to come be their latest fools. And Navajo has no terminal within 500 miles of Salt Lake.

I just quit Crete - they say they will get you home weekly but I don't know how good they really are about it either in getting you weekend time or getting more than the minimum 34 hour restart. I had considered SE but my manager warned me the time off was unpredictable at best and talked me into staying on the National fleet (I'm in Chattanooga) The manager for the SE fleet is at the Marietta terminal 1-800-998-8002, I think his name is Ray.

Dedicated - you might consider their General Mills fleet if they have openings (I was on that for 3 years til I got fed up with running to and thru Chicago way too often). With a distribution center in Orlando, you can get to FL easily enough (but not weekly, 2 weeks OTR are expected between time off requests), and if you keep a car at the DeLand terminal it would be an easy commute to J-ville.

If you want to talk to someone at DeLand, their number is 800-998-5415 (crete). As a national driver I averaged a little over 2500 miles a week and would imagine a regional position would be less than that. Regional pays 3cpm less than national and the G Mills fleet pays 5cpm less than national.bb.

Anyone here currently or ever drive the Southeast Regional division? My hubby is about to start with this company for this area and curious how others like it etc. They say out 7-10 days and home one for every six out, so I wonder if they stick to that? Also, how's the miles? They say average is 2300. Thanks!

We live about 45 min away from Chatt. We are right in between Chatt and Knoxville. How is the time off unpredictable compared to the National fleet? Hubby is not sure which one to do. We thought he would get better home time with SE fleet since it says out 7-10 days (home one day for every 6 out) and then National says out 14-18 days (and the same; home one day for every 6 out). What was your home time like with the National? We know pay and miles will probably be better with National, but we really want some hometime since I am expecting a baby early November.

I think by unpredictable, my manager was just warning me that I shouldn't assume that they could promise to get me home on a weekend or on any specific day on a regular basis. It might be midweek one week, it might be a Friday night 34 hour restart the next, and it might be a Sunday evening 24 hour minimum without a restart the week after that.
The SE regional fleet is run by the Marietta, GA terminal, but your husband should make sure he lets his manager know he would like to make the Knoxville yard his home twenty. That way after signing on, they can send him there to get a truck and he can leave a car at that terminal and commute home from a lot closer than if he parked down in GA.
National they expect you to stay out for a 2 week minimum, but you can request the day off and let them know how much time you will take. If you want to keep it at 2 weeks on National, he needs to request his next time off the very day he returns to service to ensure he doesn't end up somewhere where they can't easily return him to K-ville in just a couple of days.
If it's available and the lower pay is ok, I'd suggest you guys start with the regional and then if money is an issue, he can switch to national later.
I never had trouble with time off - targeting a specific day wasn't always easy, but I never got called at home to return to work early, and sometimes I might even take more time off than I was officially due, and without abusing it, never got scolded by management (working up to vacation I used what others told me was standard, 1 1/2 days off for 7 out even though my manager had told me the company still used 1 off for 6 out. I stayed out 28 days and scheduled myself 6 days off prior to my paid vacation week.

tomorrow ends week 3, getting used to the speed at which the truck backs up (our school truck was a turtle compared to the freightliner)

been to portland, slc, okc, denver, chicago, wichita, paris tx, and tomorrow manitowoc wi. came dangerously close to being out of hours once, but it was at the consignee, so we took our 10 cleared up a total of 7 the next day and got enough time to pick up a short hop load and make it halfway to the cons.
hoping to get sent to wal mart, still get a little nervous in cities with ####### in 4 wheelers, so would like more city time. been out 3 weeks, they got me home for my 10 hour tonight so i can get my phone traded in for a new one by the deadline, be back home the 12th. run just under 8k miles so far with the truck being down twice (2996 this week) - once for an alternator (preemptive fix at freightliner), and once for the qualcomm. end of next week we start super single, thank god should be able to get into more traffic that way.

will post more as i get there.

I am currently employed as a company drive for Crete. I have been an owner/operator with another company for the past 8 years and the money is no longer there.
I started with Crete at .42 per mile in SE regional. The first 4 weeks barely got 2000 miles, but was home each weekend. Next two weeks got 2600+ but sat w/e in truck stop with no hours. Then had to run midnight till 2pm all week because of time of restart.
Their web site, recruiters, and orientation tell you they will make every effort to get you home on the weekend, but it may not happen. They say you earn 1 day off for each 6 days out.
When you are out two weeks, they deny all this and say you are mistaken.
That only applies to national fleets. They still deny it when you give them the printed sheets claiming this that you got in orientation.
I have neighbors that drive for Crete that get 2600 miles a week and are home every weekend.
So at best they discriminate, at worst, they have become habitual liars like so many other companies.
I had heard they were a good company, but experience shows different.
Maybe this is a recent change, but a change nonetheless.

Well, hubby has been gone for 6 days now, and plans on being out all next week, and then putting his home time in for the following Wednesday. That would put him out a total of 16 days (including 2 days of orientation and a 34 hr restart away from home) if they get him home on that Wednesday. We were told that in order to get your hometime, make sure you send in 7-10 days before you are wanting to get home, what day you want home. They say do it everytime after you get a load, because otherwise it may "accidentally" get deleted and dispatch won't see it on your truck. They also said to call the terminal manager and let them know. We will see how it works out. Hubby plans on trying to stay out for at least 12 days to get atleast 2 home. He is on the Dedicated GM Fleet. Pay is less, but they said miles is more... so we will see. So far so good though.
