2-Depends... we were getting <4000 miles/week, this last week on a 'dedicated' fleet about 4000 (working toward 5000+/week) and have a friend (another team) is getting about 7000/week.
3-We're doing OK... so are others...
4-Depends on the truck you lease, I can only say ours (2012 Freightlineer, company spec) is 569/week.
    5-New to 3ish years old.

The problem is its my dm who didn't keep his word that's why I insisted on the drop auth first to make sure it would work the way he promised ..unlike the other two times ..that's when he went off on me..I don't no if I caught him in a lie or what

Sounds to me like he's seriously stressed out, possibly close to burn out. If you can switch DMs, I would. The last thing you need is to get chewed because you're insisting on correct information. All you are doing is demanding that your DM does his job. Nothing out of line there. :yes2557:

It seems like some of these guys / girls need to go through a basic management seminar or something. It's been known for a long time (to those of us that have worked in Management) that screaming at someone for your failures is beyond counter-productive. Good job for sticking to your guns and insisting on confirmation. :biggrin_25514:

I have always told new folks, well everyone that asks really, the best thing that you can do is make your DM your best friend. Or at least make them think they are ... as per human nature, a person is less likely to burn a friend. I used to take my DM to dinner whenever I was close to the terminal they worked in. I really couldn't stand the guy, but keep your enemies closer and all ... right? Chances are you won't get better loads, or longer miles, but you might just get a better attitude on the other end of the line or QC what ever the case my be.:biggrin_25525:

$2000 per month should be doable. 3 would be stretching it though.

I got the feeling my DM used my being new to his advantage at first. He would tell me things that just weren't true to get me to accept the load. Any problems I had after that were on me. Got alot of good advice reading this thread and it has gotten better. One time I accepted a load that overlapped. Preloaded trailer not an issue for late p/u as I was told I had a window for p/u and delivery. In reality there was not a delivery window. Firm appointment. Missed it. Rescheduled for three days later. My DM calls me and says that's not good. He's going to write me up and put it in my permanent file. I told him to make sure to include the QC message where he said I had a window. I told him I'd email the messages if he didn't have them because I take pictures of almost all QC messages. He called me the next day an sort of apologized and said no write up, his mistake. Things have gotten better since then.

Logic would tell you that it is better to retain the employees that you have. But I swear I've gone thru times all I could think of was they were trying to get rid of me to make room for someone else.

If you got proof of a DM like this he should be reported to carld. Carl is the DM manager and he needs to take this DM aside and retrain him. However, before you report a DM for these allegations make sure your poop don't stink... I have had a DM lie to me, but never to the extent you are portraying here and there are always two sides to a story..
