Just curious if anyone has been through this school, and about your experience there. Thanks in advance.
Anyone been through C1 at Springfield, MO?

I did two years ago. The motel wasnt to bad, I paid extra two have a single! The yard is chat and gets pretty bright. Liked most of the instructors but there seemed to be some turmoil going on. Later on one of the instructors told me him and several others walked out (I think with jobs already). They really seemed to work with the students that needed/wanted to learn and still several where sent packing or gave up for varius reasons while I was there. If it is as good as when I was there I would go for it. Be prepared to write, write and write some more, to me that was the worst part of the whole thing, well except for being told to keep upshifting while heading to a stop sign.
I kept the instuctor pretty hot because I wont do something I think is stupid, but still liked the guy. The school enabled me to pass all test and with high grades or scores. While I was there they where testing on keeping one truck for the same students all thru the class for yard and road training and for taking the DOT test. I hope they did it that way because we where the second class to try it and both passed in the sceduled time. We had fugly as a truck.

their own school..the school is 3500 but if you stay with them for one year you dont owe them anything. the only way you have to pay them anything is if you leave before the year is up. and let say you leave before your 1 year anniversary, they prorate your tuition.
example: you leave after 6 months you owe for 6 months 3500 minus 6 months =$1750. they will let you stay in their hotel which isnt bad and also they feed you.
check them out at www.driveforprime.com -
Mumbles, thanks for the reply. I applied at Prime about a month ago. Can't get a callback. Left several voicemails to my recruiter, but still nothing. I'm going to call again and ask to speak with someone else and see what happens.
As of right now I have a date set for Feb 6 to start C1 with a prehire to PAM and will go that route unless something else comes up between now and then. -
Whoever you go with, just stick it out with them for a year or so. The last thing you want to do is have some negative feedback on your DAC report. You also don't want the harassment to pay up tuition (if you are going the company paid training route).
Of course I am not speaking from experience, but rather what I have read from others that have been there and done this before us.
I applied for Prime as well, and did get a call back(I wasn't home when they called so it was on the answering machine though.) However, since I already scheduled with C1 I decided not to call them back. Maybe in a year I will, although I am more interested in working for Schneider later on down the road. -
How many folks went through the program that didn't have any issues that you don't hear about?
