I got with Werner twice, once just out of school and I must admit that as a rookie I was intimidated by the truck my trainer drove. In school we drove volves, I was was training useing a long-nose pete. My first week was with a guy just out of the training school. He decides, despite the fact that I told him it would be difficult for me, to have me attempt a back into a tight space at a flying j. I almost had it, but I bowed out and hit the headlight on a truck to my right side. The problem came a year later, I tried to get with another company after leaving werner several months after the accident for personal reasons, I was told by us xpress that I had two preventables. I then remembered that at the time of my counseling for the incident, my safety guy said that the other guy didn't report the accident until he was about fifty miles away. Werner documented this as a second incident, thus giving me two preventables. I told they needed to correct this problem. They said they did and began whooing me back to them. I hooked up with them, got my truck, and other six months had the thing breakdown so much it was sad. I sat days at a time in various locations waiting for someone to fix it. I left in November. Now I'm making a reattempt at driving otr and I am told once again that I have two preventables. I call werner, they said they show one, but the dac shows two--with WERNER. The guy said he had to send a correction to dac, then he starts trying to recruit me again. This time I told him I'd think on it, knowing full well I have no intention of returning. What else can I do to correct that error on my dac?
Werner: BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.

Hi, I have just quit werner, i graduated school in florida, and 11 out of 15 of us went to work for werner, all but 2 are now gone, i was the first to be assigned a trainer, and when i got on the truck he was fighting with his wife on the phone, he hung up and then started giving me crap before we even left the terminal, we left got driving, and within 30 min of me driving , he was asleep in the back, not once was it like i was being trained, he told me the directions, then he went to sleep, i have been driving school buses for 11 years in nj, and i have never been out west, or ever delt with hills like out there, and i told him that, but my first hill was donner pass going in to california, youd think he would want to be up to help me down, but noooo, luckily for me i have a bunch of friends who drive truck, and they have told me how to gauge which gear to be in going down, if it wasnt for that, id be either in a hospital or on the side of the road somewhere, we were never trainer/ trainee, we were team driving right of the bat. then a couple days before thanksgiving he says oh by the way im taking 6 days off have a nice time in the hotel in california, i called my student manager and told her what was going on and she said sorry cant help you get another trainer till after the holidays, by that time i was back on the truck. I hit my 140 hours, and was able to take my paid time off, and then he signed my progress report, he said i wasnt driving fast enough and i was nervouse going down hills, well what the heck, im a newbie. well i got home, and made a couple of calls, and now i am going with cypress truck lines, who is strictly a flatbed company, which i had signed on to werner for but then later found out they are getting rid of that division. Oh on another note, they say it is only 275 hrs of training, well when you hit the 275 they say oh we dont have any trucks availble you have to do another 50 hrs, and keep going, then when you do quailfy out, you are sitting in a hotel ( at your expense) till they get a truck for you and a couple of guys were waiting almost 2 weeks.
SO BEWARE DO NOT GO THERE !! -
lol..wat the hell man..so basically..i shouldnt go no where..man i think imma just get a local job driving a straight truck..cuz this whole otr thing dont see, to be worth it.

A friend of mine drives for Werner and told me Werner called in 500 drivers all newbies and LAID THEM OFF!Werner is getting out of the flatbed business too he said. They are reducing the fleet size a minimum of 500 trucks. He's getting nervous. He said he's thinking of Prime Inc.
