If their not answering your questions, their not doin their jobs. Only a recruiter can actually answer your questions. They know better than we do exactly what the hiring requirements our now.

    MR.HAPPY Thanks this.

I have a question for a lease/op. I am just about finishing up my training phase and will be leasing(don't worry I was a successful o/o with Landstar/Ranger for 15 years in a former life). My current trainer can't seem to give me a straight answer so I figured I'd ask around.

My trainer is on the old contract. We get somewhere in the "6's" for mpg. The qualcom msg that is sent out weekly with the fuel price info for various mpg rates, is that how they bill you on your settlement for the fuel you used that previous week or? He won't let me look at his settlements so I can't figure it out on my own. Also, if they are using that rate in the qualcom msg for fuel rates, how does the fuel prices in macro 27 play into that if all? I'm sure this will all be covered when I come in to upgrade, but ya know how it is when you have questions...thanks!

I'm not lease so can't answer your questions but why won't you trainer let you see his settlement?
Is he afraid that you will see how much money he is making off of your driving.
My trainer was a very non hygenic person and I am very happy to have my own truck but he was very helpful with all info I needed to either go lease or company and took the time to explain both.
He also not only showed me his settlements he shared some profits when are weeks were good.

The way this kid's brain works is a mystery to me and I have a Master's in dealing with the mentally ill(trust me...lol) He #####ed since day one about how much he had to pay to have me on his truck, which I didn't think was quite right and come to find out other then workers comp and anything over 5g miles, Prime foots the bill. He got called out on it in Sprgmo last week, whining about it to another LONG TIME trainer and still insisted he was paying. Anyway, I put up with two psycho ex-wives, I can put up with him for a few more weeks. lol! I'll figure it out on my own if I have to.

Im suprised no one has replied to this. I would think they would charge you the price that includes the Prime discount. Ask your FM about it. He should be able to tell you.

I didnt see this thread before I posted a new one a few minutes ago, so I just copied this from my original thread.

Ok...I talked with Gracie at Prime today. From what I've read, she is one of the better recruiters that Prime has.

She said that once I go solo, starting pay would be .34 a mile with a possible .5 extra if I get in a Cascadia. Now I've gone to Primes website and looked everywhere for their starting pay and I cant find it.

Is there any truth to the starting pay being that high? Could it be a bad thing that they're offering starting pay like that, possibly to offset low miles? She told me that they get weekly updates on how many miles drivers are averaging weekly and she told me, my miles would be around 2500. She also said that as far as background checks go, they only go back 3 years, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they go back 7 years. I told her point blank, that I do not want any surprises and that I want everything checked out before I give my employer a notice.

Does this sound right? I thought I read somewhere that they will do a 3 year check and turn around go back 7 years once you get to training. She did sound honest and fairly blunt about anything I asked, but I'm having doubts about some things.

Last I knew it was 33cpm for reefer drivers + a 5cpm bonus for having a cute truck (lightweight). Flatbed starts out at 36cpm but no bonus cause we only use fullsize trucks. Ive been getting over 2500 miles during weeks I could just run. It will be less if you take hometime or are otherwise not rolling. Thats just my experience.

    It's .33 until you hit 80k miles then it's .34. You get a .05 bump for a lightweight:biggrin_25511:
