For those of you complaining about the big $$ map updates....

Thats not going to stop....they make big $$ on this...kind of like printer ink cartridges...

I have a garmin 465t.....one thing im not sure if its been mentioned...

Int eh favorites section....a search box at the top where you could type in the first letter or two to save scrolling would be very helpful, maybe one or two extra trip meters too.

well, i like the cobra electronics service manager that is on this forum he answers everyones comments and suggestions ,has great product knowledege ,and for you your really have not said anything other than " thanks for your suggestions keep them coming yada yada yda" thats about it you have not adressed any issus whatsoever. if i was to purchase a product it would be from someone like the cobra service manager not someone from the public relations marketing dept, not trying to insult you or be disrespectful but if you want to sell your products i suggest you take a look at the cobra electronics gps section here ,that man has a lot of insite to his product just a suggestion dont try and double talk a trucker we are as real world as you can get !

I think you mean the Rand guy, Mark instead of Cobra.
I have also noticed this. If Jon were as interested in helping us as he is in getting us to help him, he could answer a few of the direct questions asked. It's a shame since I do like the Garmin Zumo 550 I am currently using.

Jon, if you are listening, some key features in the Zumo I like (if you can explain why these are not included in current models):
Ability to import route directly from Mapsource (or other mapping software)
MP3 player which is halted by the voice prompts
    Ability to control sat radio
    External audio output
if the Zumo550 had a bigger screen I probably wouldn't even be looking for a GPS.

True customer service is rare so it's easy to spot. Mark and Diesel Boss are two prime examples of customer service that I have noticed on this board. The occasional pat on the back won't cut it here. I do realize the title of your thread so if you would like to start one where direct questions will be answered directly then I am sure the admins wouldn't mind.

ok my biggest complaint on the 465 LMT i have is the volume its not loud enough. this is my 4th garmin model and the best out of all them volume wise was the first one i had it was the triangular one with 2 speakers in it. none since then have been loud enough i tried adding a speaker to it and it sorta worked for a while but it wasn't a good fix really. Also id like to find sunshade that fits on the 4 inch screen haven't found one yet other then the cheapo clip ons on ebay that last about 3 months.

Sunscreen for your GPS Screen? Cheapest one is one you make yourself using cardboard and duct tape. May not look real good, but it sure does the job!

Kinda sad to pay $350 for something and then have to add duct tape and cardboard to use it.

I made mine from $.88 black plastic folder in the school supply aisle at Wally world. A razor, some superglue and an hour (I'm a bit of a perfectionist) and everyone wants to know where I bought my sunshade. It's also a little too bright for me at nioght (even dimmed down) so black women's nylons at Dollar Tree, an snip snip, instant dimming, without making it unreadable/unusable. Total outlay under $20 for a sunshade, and the nylon also keeps it from having a glare

Thanks for the feedback. We are making sure to have VERY loud speakers on all future products. We will also continue to support and audio/out port so you can plug the device into other audio mediums. Garmin does not have any plans to make a sunshade, but I can definitely see the use. What percentage of people do you guys think would like a sunshade? Thanks again

Sorry, I didn't clearly explain what my purpose is on this forum. I honestly appreciate you calling me out because I would like to clarify to everyone. I am not a service manager at Garmin, I am a product manager. My role is to manage the engineers that actually add the new features to the dezl products. I am using this blog to learn about what you want and what you like/don't like so that we can make the correct changes to future projects. I'm very sorry that some of my answers are vague. I unfortunately can't announce what new features we're planning on adding and what new devices we are coming out with until we publicly announce new products/strategies. Please don't take this as me not listening to the feedback. I have a document that I write every comment down on and will use this in the future to show the engineers what customers want and how we can best add these changes. I have put in a recommendation to our service team to make a blog of their own to start answering service questions on our devices. I hope to keep this blog more of a "brainstorming/feedback" forum.

let me know if you have any other questions and sorry again for the miscommunication.

    -Jon
